you americans are so spoiled.
If McDonalds would get a clue and started delivering here, we will be 8)

When I lived in Oakland I used to call a company called Munchy Munchy Hippos, they delivered the stonerist food all night long, it was awesome. They used to have a bacon cheese burger on a Krispy Kream doughnut with tater tots covered in gravy (yeah that kind of food)

Blech! Is that for stoners or pregnant women?
I saw the bacon cheeseburger on a Krispy Kream on "Man Vs. Food".  It looked good, and he said it was amazing.  I might try one when I've lost enough weight to not feel guilty about it.

Whataburger (regional burger joint) has a white cream gravy for dipping chicken strips into.  Found it tasted great with fries.  No surprise, really, since it's just potatoes and gravy.

Hmm.  I like Whataburger, mainly for the A1-Thick and Hearty burger, but I haven't tried the chicken strips.  Sounds very tempting.

Amazon Taps Post Office For Sunday Deliveries; A Win-Win?

November 11, 201310:05 AM

Much of the talk in recent years about how the U.S. Postal Service could stem has been about the things it might stop doing — most notably, delivering the mail on Saturdays.

Now, there's word that with the Postal Service for Sunday delivery of packages. The service begins immediately in the Los Angeles and New York City metropolitan areas and is planned to expand next year to other metros, including Dallas, Houston, New Orleans and Phoenix.

The early analyses of the deal say it's a winner for both sides.

For the Postal Service, , the deal offers "a chance to take some business from United Parcel Service and FedEx, which do not deliver on Sundays. Now, some orders that would have been handled by either of those carriers for Monday delivery will go through the Postal Service and arrive on Sunday."

Package delivery is a profitable part of the Postal Service's business, unlike money-losing delivery of Saturday mail.

, the Postal Service will deliver the packages "at regular rates. ... Previously, a shipper had to use its pricey Express Mail service and pay an extra fee for Sunday delivery." The Postal Service, adds the Post, "said it would increase staffing in the locations where Amazon will offer the service, but did not offer specific numbers. ... [It] also declined to comment on how much additional revenue the new initiative is expected to bring."

Amazon, meanwhile, "won't change shipping prices for customers" who want Sunday delivery, .

But the online shopping giant "is seeking to siphon away customers from Target Corp. and other retailers," Bloomberg adds, at a time when it is "also facing competition from online-shopping sites that are rolling out new services to get products to customers more quickly and efficiently. EBay Inc. offers deliveries under an hour, seven days a week, for some products, and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. operates a same-day delivery service for groceries and household goods."

Beyond the issue of what it means for both sides of the deal, we have a question.
I'd like to hear Lembach's take on this.. 8)

Other than USPS comes in very distant third in the Big Three shippers, what is there not to like? Many people are going to be pleasantly surprised when I tell them that their replacement will get to them Sunday instead of Monday.

Third? Bullshit. UPS is ok, but they don't send letters.  And Fedex can go fuck itself.
FedEx is ok, but UPS can go Fuck itself and their shitty brown trucks! >:(

I know for a fact that UPS trucks don't know what the fuck STOP means. My new job is driving a school bus and had one cruise past me at a residential intersection while I was unloading.

I trust you've watched Ghost Rider in preparation for this occupation.

No, but during training we did have to watch a short about a bus being hijacked that was ridiculously best case scenario with a requisite vaguely foreign villain. I would love to see a riffer get a hold of it.

UPDATE: Here's a download link: http://mfile.akamai.com/25703/wmv/tsagov.download.akamai.com/25703/htdocs/assets/wmv/stsa_english.asx

For those who don't want to go through the whole thing, a random foreign guy (Arab, Columbian, French?) and his random accomplices hijack a bus to put a bomb in it. A lot of things happen just right for the bus people and the police so that no one ends up hurt and the bad guy is thwarted.

My job is still a projectionist.  In an all digital projection booth.  It's surprisingly busy.  In between 3 hour lunches.

Sounds like that movie about the bus that was speeding along, and it had to go above a certain speed, and if it went below that speed, it would explode.  What was that movie called again?

That would be so awesome. It seems to be a product of the TSA, though, so probably not public domain.

The hell is the matter with my brain? Earlier, I went to put socks on before I ran, and when I got to my room, my head's like, "You need to take your pants off to put on socks." After I had done so and put on a sock, I stopped, and realized that what logically made sense 5 seconds earlier really didn't.

I think I may be stupid.
