I was recently surprised to find that there are several people who consider me a friend, whom I have always just thought of as "someone I know."  I guess that's what I get for being generally nice to people.

Better than being "someone that they used to know".

There's a lady I know
If I didn't know her
She'd be the lady I didn't know.

And my lady, she went downtown
She bought some broccoli
She vrought it home...
She's choppin' broccoli....

I think about this every damn time I see chopped broccoli at work. Which, since I work in the frozen foods department, means several times a day.

Erica and I watched Dana Carvey's SNL audition video on Youtube the other day and that was on there.  Been stuck in my head ever since.

Reading through the back catalog of posts around the forum (and avoiding forbidden zones) I'm finding the most interesting exchanges regarding Rifftrax and riffing in general happened about four years ago.  Those boards are pretty quiet these days.
Most of the discussion regarding Rifftrax and riffing is within the boards and threads created for that topic.  For example, each new release gets its own sub forum, and people who have purchased that riff discuss that riff there.  Just like people talk about politics in the politics thread, religion in the religion thread, Breaking Bad in the Breaking Bad thread, general aggravation in the RRGH thread, general joy in the WOO thread, funny pictures in the Funny Pictures and Facebook threads... and so on so forth.

One thing I have noticed is that the contributors to the discussions about Rifftrax is that these are the less active members with lower post counts.  If you look at all the chatter about the upcoming live show, a lot of our regulars are jumping in, but you also see a lot of newbies and low post count members.  Because these are casual users who are more consumers than forum members.  They buy the product from the main site, they enjoy it, and they feel like discussing it.  They're here for discussion on a product, not a social community.  It's something that happens on forums.

On the other hand, there are others, like Tripe H. Redux and Imrahil, who seem to be here more for the social aspect and don't seem to be big Rifftrax consumers.  The fact that this is the Rifftrax forum is sort of a minor detail for them I think.

And of course there's guys like me and Bob and Darth Geek who dip into both ends of the pool; ardent Rifftrax fans and active community members.

There's always discussion on Rifftrax and riffing.  There always will be.  But the difference is that there's really not all that much to say about most movies.  A rare few, such as Birdemic or The Room, have this weirdness and complexity about them that just makes them such rich topics of conversation.  Most you just say a few things and you're done.  Contrast this to topics like current events or religion or general visual humor or celebration or the need to vent your frustrations--these topics have near infinite depth and will ALWAYS draw more discussion when they're permitted.

There's maybe a little less discussion on riffing than in the past.  I dunno why.  But I doubt there's any more or less discussion on non-riffing related topics.

It's more this

there's really not all that much to say about most movies.
My posts can be mostly "I like that joke" and really lots of people are doing that, it's not very interesting.

I think this is the only forum I regularly post on, and I treat it as a general geek-ish forum (I don't do Rifftrax stuff all too often, all things considered). Rifftrax brought me to the forum, but I stayed for the people.

Who in tarnation is Mr Ohn Ith ???

We are playing a game of Monty Python themed Mafia right now, and Mr Ohn Ith is my character name. He was a guy that could only say the last part of words. Otherwise his name would be John Smith.
