Has anyone noticed that the only time anything I write gets a "like" from two members of this forum, regardless of content or subject, is when someone disagrees with me about it.  I used to think it was humorous, but now I think it's a little sad.

If you're talking about the politics thread, I liked your comment because it made me laugh. I can laugh at witty jabs from opposing viewpoints because I posess what's known as a sense of humor. :^) I can't speak for others, but when I like a post, I like the post.

Had a dream last night which took the form of an extended length trailer for a movie in which Russell Brand at his most annoyingly coc-er-ney chappiesque was in conflict with a super-intelligent crocodile. Not sure what lead to that but hopefully I don;t have the power of prophecy.
You are prophesying the upcoming live-action Schnappi movie.

There's this old country song called Feed Jake.  A young man writes a letter to his best friend, his dying wish

"If I die before I wake, feed Jake"

Jake being his dog

Depressing as shit.  There's some other things in the song, about the human race sucking.  But I just remember that one line.

I wrote that top 5 while drunk and exhausted, but I still think "Alone Again, Naturally" is at the top of my list.  I mentioned it to a few friends today, and they had their own opinions.  "Dust in the Wind" came up, as did "All By Myself".  Mentioned it to my mother, and she said "Honey" was the most depressing.

Feed Jake is a good candidate too.  I wasn't thinking country.  There's a wealth of depression to be found there.

I think that would make a great discussion over on the music board.  I don't think I should start the thread though...

I hear Dust in the Wind come up a lot when people are talking depressing music, but I find it strangely comforting. Maybe that says more about me than anything else, but I find myself much more able to cope with life when presented with a reminder that all this stuff we think is important doesn't matter in the long run.

My younger sister is moving in with her boyfriend next week, and instead of buying her anything useful, I'm thinking I will buy her terrible, semi-useful house-warming gifts.  I'm currently bidding on this:

And am eyeing some lovely fridge magnets.  Anyone got any other ideas?

Just skip the gift. Go to their house, have a poo, and leave it in the bowl.  It's the same idea but less wasteful.

Just don't make it an upper decker. You'll never be asked back.

Nice!

Here are the fridge magnets I bought:

They are, in order, pictures of footballing legends Wayne Rooney, George Best, and Bobby Moore.  The best thing is that though my sister will hate them, her boyfriend will love them.  Ha ha!
