My mom had a stroke last night and is in the hospital right now. Barring any complications, she'll be home tomorrow. Our family has apparently started a tradition of spending Christmas in the hospital. First dad last year, mom this year. If the trend continues, it's my turn next year.

I'm very sorry Cupcake.  I hope she gets well and feels better soon.

internet package tracking is such a double-edged sword. the last update on the website is from four days ago, and i don't know if my package is lost between oklahoma and the border, stuck at the border, or what. presumably, it's fine, but it feels like it's vanished from the face of the earth.

it's taken three weeks to get from tusla to chicago. wonder how long it'll take to get up here to western canada?

I've been listening to various old time radio shows, as in from the 30-50's, as I drive to and fro, on my phone. They are far more compelling than most of the music nowadays. I had no idea there was so much stuff from back in the day. Orson Wells as the Shadow, Vincent Price in various stuff. I highly recommend it. Give 'Three Skeleton Key' a try as you're going somewhere.

Amazon shipping can be very odd sometimes, I needed to replace my hot glue gun, so looked for ones that could be delivered tomorrow, at checkout the free (prime) options were overnight by 8am or Saturday.  Weird that there was no option for during the day tomorrow (Friday).  So I picked overnight.

Well that overnight shipping got delayed so it turned into a normal next day delivery just like I wanted in the first place...

Also in the order was a cheap clarinet, not the cheapest, maybe 2 steps up from the cheapest, but half as much as a beginner Yamaha.  It was my gift card frivolous purchase just for fun.  Not sure I'll really spend the time learning to play it properly, but I love the sound and it's fun just to just noodle around on it.

For some reason Google and Youtube think I'm in Finland. Presumably this has something to do with my VPN, but I've disconnected and reconnected multiple times so it's definitely set to USA. Weird.
