One of our old Spanish-speaking customers (who is actually legal in this country with a valid SS#) just paid us a visit because SC will not let him upgrade from a permit to a full license..
We call the SCDMV in Columbia to find out why and after about 15 minutes listening to their stupid "It's a Great Day in South Carolina..." hold message and we finally get in touch with a rep who then transfers me to an 'investigator' and wants to talk to him directly..
He proceeds to ask him how he went from being this one person's name (who happened to also have a valid SS#) from 2001-09 to his true identity, and the customer responds (in broken English) that he needed to drive to get to work cause he didn't have legal documents back then.
Basically he just admitted to the investigator that he committed identity theft to obtain a SC license under false pretenses

The investigator says "Ok we'll send somebody over to help straighten this out" and hangs up shortly afterwards.. I'm pretty sure they are gonna be sending the cops to arrest him and I told him to prepare for that and gave him the # of an attorney because he's proly gonna need it very soon *face palm*
