I doubt my computer screen would be able to compete with my 52" HDTV.   :)

with a computer you could just download the shows you miss (or in the case of pilots get them WAY early)  It can be a pain, but there are a few weekly shows that I download whenever I miss an episode. Hell, I can't afford HBO so the internet is the only means for me to keep up with Entourage (considering they're like a year behind on the DVD releases :( )

And yet I buy tons of DVDs ... truth is HBO is a rip off unless you have roommates to help you pay for it. And as far as cable/ networks, nothing will ever stop me from missing an episode of the Simpson's or South Park ... if they really cracked down on video downloads, I'd just have to wait for the product to get released or face being unnecessarily targeted. Why do that to your core fan base? And in the case of Network shows, if "AD dollars" is the  justification for blaming the consumer, then I still call Bull S*** - thats just lazy thinking on the advertisers part... find a way to supply the content on the web with the ads attached. I delete the show once I watch them because

Imrahil-
My signature, (The normal one,) is a capture from the film Godzilla vs Destroyah. In the film, Godzilla is melting down, his own nuclear metabolism turning against itself. If he reaches a certain heat, he will either explode, or produce enough heat to burn the world. Either way, if e dies, everybody will go with him. The Self Defense Forces are sent out with special weapons to stop this, after helping Godzilla defeat his last foe, Destroyah.
So at this point the humans are firing cadmiun missiles and freeze rays at Godzilla, trying to keep his temperature down as he dies. The external cold, and the internal heat, are obviously causing Godzilla great pain, as he roars in confusion, agony, and possibly the knowledge of his own death, the result of a human made mistake those long years ago. The humans are watching with dread and fasination, as they realize that they are helping to kill a being who had, with his last energy, rid the world of the terrifying Destroyah, and who's passing will leave Tokyo a radioactive wasteland. he music, the camerawork, all help to make this the most dramatic scene in the Godzilla series sinse the first film.

And then Major Sho Kuroki, at the command, loudly exclaims, "What radioctivity!", utterly ruining the moment. It is simultaniously the best and worst moment in any Godzilla film.

And now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

I didn't mean hook it up to a tv. My computer -is- my TV right now.

OK, I had no idea what "banjaxing" meant, so I looked it up.  Then I noticed this small banner ad just to the right of the definition.

Is it just a weird coincidence, or are they spying on me? ? ? ?

Must be one of those things that monitors your web usage to determine what you might be searching for, by reading the pages you've visited and seeing all this talk about pc to tv, and then put the proper ad up for you to see. It's like those Google ads or other similar kinds that sees what is displayed on the page, and puts the proper ads up. It's like that with my old blog page. I added the Google advertising thingy, and it just reads the text on the page and searches for the proper ad.

Oh, and Big Brother is watching you. Right now. They see your every move. They know what porn sites you frequent.  ;)
