To me, Sarah Silverman has always been a bit underwhelming.  She can make me chuckle from time to time, but her comedy is pretty one dimensional.  My favorite woman comedian is Maria Bamford.  In a lot of her bits she does voices of other people, her mom, co-workers, etc, and they crack me up.  Her routines are best taken in as a whole, but these bits will give you a taste:

She just seams deranged and where as I don't find that funny in of it self it was an excellent show case for her very talented voice work and multipule persona
Every day of my life I find the wisest and best to fix our attention on the Good and the Beautiful. If you just take the time to look at it.

I remember seeing her on Comedy Central one night and thinking she was pretty good. She strikes a good balance of being weird and unhinged while delivering it with subtlety and finesse.

That reminds me of a similar male comedian that I really like. I saw him in Vegas last year.

The Amazing Johnathan.

On second though, subtlety doesn't apply to him as much, does it?

Subtle is one thing The Amazing Jonathan is not.  But he is funny, as well as a pretty talented magician.

I was pissed at myself a few years back, went to Vegas for my brother's wedding and didn't make the time to see Amazing Jonathan or Penn and Teller.

Yeah, when in Vegas... Penn & Teller are a must. They have a great show put together, and they always make time to hang out afterwards and sign autographs or take pictures with their fans. Plus, if you get there early Penn plays jazz with his band before the performance~

What's their show like? Is it a mix of stand-up and magic, like their old TV show?  'cause that would be pretty cool.
