I can't speak for their accuracy, I can only say what I've heard from him in interviews.  I heard him talk about an anti-drug story he put into some Spider-Man comics awhile back and he said he had to keep it as vague as possible because he really didn't know enough about drugs to be specific about nicknames for them or how they're used.

I suggest you read the older Spider-Man comics with MJ's first few appearances.  Half Stan Lee's attempts at using slang is just hi-larious.
