I really, really do need to watch 30 Rock. I didn't really like the pilot, but I think I saw an episode from the second season. Seems a lot like Arrested Development, which is always a good thing.

Jennifer Aniston can go stick her head in a pig.

Huh, well that's rather vile....so unlike you.   :'(

Meh.  It was okay.  The Night Court thing was probably good for fans of the show, but I've never seen it, so the funniest moments were revolved around Jennifer Aniston.  Good Lord, she looked fantastic in that gold dress.

For me, the entire Jennifer Aniston subplot fell completely flat.  She was a comedy vacuum that sucked all the funny out of the room whenever she was on screen.

The Night Court subplot saved the episode for me.  Tracy and Kenneth subplots are pretty much always golden.  I'm also thinking that Jenna is becoming my favorite character on the show.

I don't like Jenna. Never did. She's a soulless character. She needs some development and something to do. Usually she's just there to be a dumb blonde. I don't find that very interesting. I did like "The Rural Juror" and the confusing Obama with Osama, but that's about it.

Also, this season is very slow to do anything plotwise with Liz.

It's been a bit of a slow start after the superb ending episodes from last season. I still really enjoy it though.

No one commenting on the new episode? I thought it was perhaps the weakest of the three recent guest-star episodes, though I still thought Steve Martin was pretty great - at least at the begining he was - and some of the stuff with Tracy was funny, too.  Too many misses for me this week though.

I understand their reasoning for the big celebrity guests but it's starting to feel like Will & Grace.  That is not a good thing.  They need to actually show some skits from their fake show.  Those were always fun.

They're not good enough to write skits, that's why they never show them.

It's like they think of a funny title for a Tracy Jordan movie and then they're all like whew we're spent turn out the lights last guy out.

I think showing a skit from the fictional show would be missing the point.  It's about what goes on behind the scenes, and it's even moving away from that concept.

I'm surprised it's still on the air. It's just this side of Get A Life. Morans aren't supposed to understand weird humor, even if it's dumb weird humor. This is a weird show.
