I just have to ask any GWAR fans out there if they think Lordi kind of stole their gimmick. I mean I've watched Lordi and GWAR videos on Youtube and the similarities are striking.

On the surface it does look like it. But both bands were obviously influenced by KISS to begin with. GWAR has been around and in costume since 1985 and i don't think Lordi didn't get started until sometime in the early 90s. I think of Lordi as GWAR-Lite..

How was that show, by the way? And what did you think of Cradle Of Filth?  ;D

The show was good. The crowd was cool. This show was in Tucson and there wasn't the horrible crush of people making it impossible to enjoy the show like the last 3 times I have seen them in Phoenix. This show was a one-off from the Viva La Bands tour. That tour went to San Diego that night and GWAR played here so I didn't get to see Cradle of Filth. Also GWAR's manager decided there were too many names on the guest list and took my name off randomly. Luckily I knew the person working the box office and she gave me tickets anyway.

Sounds like you got the better end of that deal. GWAR is always a blast, but it's a lot more fun when you're there with a smaller crowd of people who are actually there just to see GWAR, ya' know? The vibe is just more fun or something.

Sucks about the guest list thing. I'd be really pissed if they just randomly crossed my name off the list. Especially if the show was sold out. Guess you're just a lucky man, with friends in just the right places!

By the way, good idea there with the longsleeve shirt.
Now you'll just have little stained paws, as opposed to the usual full sleeves of fake blood and goo!
