My Name is Earl

Apparently there isn't a thread for this show in here already... wow.

What did you guys think of the premiere of Season 3? I love how they changed the name of the show in the credits to "My Name is Inmate 28301-016," very cute. Also, the bit with the shiv was hilarious even though you saw it coming a mile away.

So who else watches this little gem?

I think its cool, it seemed to obvious to get him out of jail, so keeping him and and seeing what happens is cool. That guy in his little scout uniform was adorable.

I really wish Joy could have totally un-stupified Randy, his charcter is just annoying now. I still think back to Boy Meets World, where he played the kind hearted, poet thug. Randy is just a complete idiot. It's just stupid at this point. So now, granted Randy can get caught by the Police, we get to see the two of them in jail. Mmmmm that should be annoying. I can already telll Randy will just screw everything up for Earl. Oh well.

I like My Name is Earl as well.  I think Jamie Pressley does a really good job at making Joy likeable, even though she's a complete bitch.  I do agree that Randy has gotten annoying, but I think that was kind of the point of the episode, otherwise we wouldn't have been happy for him when he actually grew.  I think we'll see more and more of Randy becoming a grown-up (or at least an adolescent) over the course of the season, though I hope Earl isn't in jail the entire time.

Yeah, I'm hoping that he'll be in there for maybe 3 or 4 more episodes, and then either get parolled or have his judgement overturned because it was unnecessarily harsh or something like that.

I'm afraid that Randy will just revert once he is with Earl, but it would be cool if he continued to (very slowly) mature and become more independant - I find him highly gross and annoying in his current state, so the possibility of him becoming less of an embarassment would make a great show even better.

Last night's episode was frickin' hilarious.

My wife and I knew exactly what was going to happen with the gang leaders as soon as they looked at each other in the warden's office - we were already laughing just before they started. Too funny.

Also, favourite moment of the episode: Randy scoring 55% on his examination - the highest score anyone had gotten all year. Awesome. ;)
