Mine only cost $11.60 or something... but I doubt that we see any more, although we might. Regardless, I'd continue to buy them. $11.60 and no shipping, that's like 4 beers...

I've only bought the first one.  You can watch them (I haven't checked for the last one) on Netflix's view online thingy.

The first two...they're not very good.  Don't take my fan badge away for saying that.  Just my opinion, but the riffing was subpar and the host segments are awful.  I mean, I at least laughed at the host segments on mst3k.  During the Film Crew I actually felt embarrassed for them it was so bad.

Some of the rifftraxs are misses but at least it's just $2.99 ;)

I was disappointed in most of the host segments too.  I think they were a little too worried about making them easy to understand for the newcomers to riffing, so almost everything they did was overexplained and left it flat.  I don't have to hear two or three times in one segment "that's Bob Honcho, our boss"

That was my main complaint though, I enjoyed all four movies.  Yes they vary in quality, but you get that with Rifftrax and old MST too.  Sometimes it just depends on the movie.

My $.02...
I liked them, the host segments were a bit off, but I liked them better than any Pearl Forrester host segment.  Frankly, the MST host segments needed the cruel energy of Trace.  The Film Crew host segments shows a lot of the fun of the 3 guys goofing off, but they didn't feel like complete characters.

The movies and riffing were really good, The Wild Women of Wongo is one of my favorites, better than most of the Rifftrax I own.  The Giant of Marathon was also really....you know what, I loved all 4.

There, I said it.  :-)

So you are only willing to pay $7??

I guess you found them for a cheap price than me.  ;)

What I meant to say was that I wouldn't pay more than $10 per movie.

I don't know that that's very reasonable. I mean they have production costs, and they aren't pressing an enormous run like a huge dvd company would.

I think that they are very cheap, considering.

My only concern was paying for postage every time, so I waited until they were all released.

Buying them all at once made them about the price of buying a MST3K boxset, which would also give you 4 DVDs.

Very fair.

I haven't watched them yet, mind, but even if they aren't up to the heights they are often hitting now, if they made new ones today, I'm sure they would be.

I would buy more is what I'm saying.

But if they released them as boxsets, or at two per dvd, they COULD get the production costs down, I'm sure, and that would be cool too.
FINE

They did seem a little uncomfortable, but I found the Dead Pan face skit from Killers From Space quite hilarious!  That was one of the funniest host segments ever made.   I laughed so hard.

I was thinking about what they are worth to me, not how much it costs to do it. I think that the ONLY way that they could probably get the price down is boxsets or multiple movies per DVD.

Alls I'm sayin' is that at $10 or more per movie, I'd have to be selective.

Yeah, fair enough I suppose.

They can't really make a product that loses them money. I strongly susspect though, if they were made now, now that they are back into the swing of it, they would be stronger too.
FINE

We have no idea of which order they were actually made in, the release order was the result of the vote taken at Kevin's website www.filmcrewonline.com

Yeah, I think they could lose the host segments, but I always thought that with MST too.  Still, it was brilliant in Marathon when Bill said in his Linus type voice, "That's what the battle of Marathon is all about, Mike Nelson."

While I thought the host sequences were, on average, a little weaker than the MST3k ones, I still laughed my ass off at "make the Film Crew dance", "Goodbye Wongo Style", and the dead-pan faces skit.  I just think they need a little more practice in their new personas.

The "DANCE" segment was classic, as was the dead-pan face, those are the two segments that really give me hope if future Film Crew releases are to be.

Has anyone seen the Giant of Marathon skit where Mike has to apologise for his racist slure against ancent Greeks.

That is one of my favorite host segments in MST3K or the Film Crew.

To me the cheap host segments are part of the charm in both shows.
