Film Crew Update
« on: October 19, 2006, 06:57:57 AM »
http://www.filmcrewonline.com/

It seems the Film Crew website has a new update:

They're coming to DVD, and we get to choose which movie!!

There's 4 old films to choose from, and the only thing missing are those silly little silouettes on the bottom of the screen!

Choose wisely, fellow Riffers!

Talk about a tough decision!

I made my choice based on how much I laughed. Of course I laughed at all four of them, but the biggest laughs for me came from (SPOILER ALERT! I made the color of the text white to help shield your virgin eyes! Copy and paste the text in a text editing program to decipher)

Killers From Space. I loved the music and corny 50s acting in Hollywood After Dark, and the story in The Wild Women of Wongo, but the riffs in Killers From Space were exemplary! With Mike's "Go right ahead" and Bill's "Christopher Walken... Narrating...", I was rolling!!!

Or better yet, could the Mods move my thread to this one? Or would that be too confusing?

why was I not informed of this earlier?

Just curious, is there a reason besides no network that they're not still doing MST3k? because with Rifftrax and this thing they're basically still making the show.

I was also wondering if this is a conflict of intrest for Mike?
Seeing since its almost the same thing as rifftrax.
On the other hand it seems like the Film Crew thing is more to do with old B movies...probably public domain movies too.

Public domain and probably without the restoration that Legend does. Hopefully Legend will continue to do some DVDs with Mike commentary as well.

I did wonder with Rifftrax taking off the way it has, if we'd be seeing anymore Legend dvd releases with Mikes commentary on them.

As for choice, i went with Hollywood After Dark, great scene with great riffs.

Does Mike have twice as many hours in the day as the rest of us? Cheezus! Talk about busy!

I loved all four, but picked Killers from Space.  Crappy Sci-fi was my favourite MST3k genre.

April is a long time to wait...

Well there you go.  Everyone clamoring to see B-movies riffed like the good old days of MST3K should be able to get their fill of B-movie goodness from this venture.

And maybe this will provide the opportunity to see some more shorts riffed on?

There are clips for all 4 movies on there, does this mean that all 4 movies have been done and will be coming out???  Can't wait for that!!!!

This truly is a good time to be a fan of MST3K, Rifftrax, and the Film Crew!!!!    ;D

Yeah. That surprised me a bit. But I guess with all the pre-ordering retailers have to do and solicitation and what not the lead time on releasing a DVD is probably pretty big.

I picked Killers as well, mostly for the title.

So is this an offshoot of Rifftrax or does Mike run Rifftrax and Shout runs Film Crew?
