I hate being told when to find something funny.

Really? You feel like the music is telling you that you'd better find The Film Crew funny? Like it's forcing you?
You don't hear voices telling you to kill me, do you?

Seriously though, comedies with weird theme songs have always kinda' creeped me out. I think it comes from back when i was a kid, and Taxi used to come on really late at night after all the other funny sitcom-type shows. But i didn't watch it for years because that opening theme song was depressing and it freaked me the hell out as kid. And there's lots of shows like that: MASH, Cheers, Extras.

Depressing theme song music for sitcoms and comedies have never sat well with me.
I'm just fine with the boing-y.

I hear you, I avoided Taxi as a kid because from the theme song it seemed to say "Do you like Rhoda?  If you, get ready for some more boring crap".    Poor choice of intro music.

Yeah, I enjoy a little subtlety in my theme music.  Like the one from Newhart-- now there was some good stuff.  It was quietly happy music, but always left open the possibility that Bob was going to wake up next to Suzanne Pleshette at the end of the day.

I just got my first Film Crew DVD today.  I really liked the music.  The "hold please" thing was odd but I thought the randomness of the music was creative.  I clicked this thread hoping someone would have a link to download it or something...

So put in the minority who says, "I like it very much!"

MST3K Theme > Film Crew theme > Rifftrax theme

I dig the zaniness of the music. :^)

Basically where I stand... all though I don't like the Film Crew theme either.....  but it's definitely better than Rifftrax

I like the theme song too.
I also clicked this thread expecting to hear favorable things about it.
I had it going through my head at work a couple times,
and I didn't mind one bit. It made me more awake.
Boingy, if you will. Won't you?

Cinematic Titanic really kicks ass though.
I hope the score from the trailer is their theme music.
I can't get that one out of mind for the life of me.

So yes the theme you hear in the trailer is what they are going to be using for the show :D

It sounded like Joel performed it on the pork-orina.

Hehe, I actually snorted here at work reading that.

Wasn't incredibly fond of the first Rifftrax theme, new one is a bonus.  The Film Crew theme was just kinda "blah" like it was thrown together at the last second or yanked from a shelf of generic sounding themes.

I love the MST3k themes, I think they are really catchy.

The best comedy opening theme ever is for Malcolm in the middle. Best theme music.

Agreed on Malcom.  When you hire They Might Be Giants to do a comedy theme, you have every right to expect greatness.

Shit, I guess I better cancel my album of all-boingy theme music then.  :'(
