Snowpiercer,
....
if you can look past the fact that the premise is absurd.
THANK YOU! I keep hearing so much praise for this movie from everyone who's seen it, but I just can't seem to get that silly premise out of my head.

I thought it was really fun

So the difference is actually seeing it and enjoying it as opposed to reading the premise.
That's why I will get around to see it sometime. It's getting so much praise, there must be something to it.

I thought it was a really fun sci-fi/action

I like the movie a lot. The film makers clearly new how unrealistic the premise was and there was no effort in the film to justify it. The movie plays out like a graphic novel that embraces the ludicrous premise.

High Noon - Incredible! Described as the Western film for people who don't like Westerns. This movie raises the stakes right from the very beginning and manages to stay really tense the whole way through.

Weird to see a young Lloyd Bridges and Col Potter too!

Have you seen Rio Bravo? It's John Ford's response to High Noon as he really didn't like the film.  I think both are great, but I prefer Rio Bravo.

I've seen El Dorado, which is (essentially) one of the three versions of Rio Bravo, right?

El Dorado is pretty good, but Rio Bravo is the best of the three by a country mile.

I will certainly check it out. My wife and I have only just got into westerns in the last year or so.

My Neighbour Totoro - I hadn't seen it in years. The blu ray looks incredible, of course.

Doc of the Dead - A documentary about zombie entertainment and culture.  Starts out looking like it's going to be cringeworthy, but once it gets going, it's actually informative about how the concept formed over the years.  The part about people embracing zombie culture, however, is a little less interesting, while the part about "could zombies happen" sits somewhere in between interesting and eye-rolly.

After watching the end of Season 3 of Game Of Thrones and being seriously pissed off about how it ended, I needed a serious palate cleanser. I decided to finally pick up some of the Harry Potter films(which I've never seen before). I watched The first one and Chamber of secrets... and I thought Sorcerer's stone was okay, but Chamber of Secrets wasn't that good. I've still got three more Harry Potter movies to watch. I'm just wondering,  in general which does everybody think is the best?

Also, Prisoner of Askoban.

Uh oh, Ed's drunk...

Imrahil, I love Ghostbuster's, too! My friends and I saw it like 8 times in the theatres, (this was before we knew that VHS tapes and DVD's would come out and we could watch the shits at home. We thought, this is it, man, once it is gone from the theatres, we can only hope it comes on some ABC Friday Night Movie... and we might catch it! )

Now, I have it on Blu-ray, and DVD, and VHS, and I love the writing...

Are you the Keymaster? (So many quotable lines from that movie...)

I'm a teatotaler, never been drunk in my life.

To be fair, I didn't see the last two Harry potter films. Breaking them into two was too exhausting of a chore for me to bring myself to sit through.

Yeah, I come from a long line of alcoholics.... going all the way back to the Old Country. My mother's teething remedy was Jameson whiskey.

Smoking and drinking killed off most of my family. WTF! You wanna live forever? Everybody gotta die, brother.
