Just got finished watching DAMN SEA VAMPIRES! Gloriously goofy Syfy flick about sea creatures that kill people...kind of like those cool bat people things in Krull. Sometimes. Other times they just suck on people with their tails. And sometimes they birth out of people like Xenomorphs. Silly special effects, lame acting, and most importantly it doesn't have that much down time for a movie like this.
It also goes by it's much more boring title Beast of the Bering Sea on Netflix. Definitely recommended!

I'm just here to disagree with Imrahil about Venture Bros. Every single episode in season two is a sacred cow.

Oh, also, I just watched Maze Runner, where at the end of the movie
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It was an alright movie, considering all of the other recent, similar movies.

I watched 4-5 episodes. I obviously don't get "it" about the Venture Brothers, whatever that is. I mean I know Johnny Quest and all that.  I just didn't really think they were any good.

It's an amazing series in my opinion, but you know, taste is taste.
FINE

Venture Bros is one of the my favorite series. I don't think there's been a new episode in a long time.

They take a long time between seasons.  Season 6 is supposed to start in January.

How come a lot of people don't remember that on this forum? (see anyone who likes the new Trek movies).

The flip side of that is people seeing contrary opinion on something as an attack, and responding as if it was personal.  And things escalate from there.

Ah, memories of my first encounter with insane Doc Who, he went off because I said a real fan of the original series would want more stories in that timeline, and that is unlikely now because the studio wouldn't want to confuse people by putting out anything that doesn't follow this new crappy timeline.  Oh man did he lose it over that...

I've tried to watch Venture Brothers several times, can't really put my finger on why I lose interest in it so fast.  Might be the voice acting, too much Patrick Warburton.

too much Patrick Warburton.

I know those words, but that sentence makes no sense.

I really like him in small doses (like when he was on Seinfeld), but too much and his voice gets monotonous.

I really need to check out Venture Brothers. Everything I've heard about it indicated I'd love it.

And I love me some Patrick Warburton. I was really pissed off in MIB2 when he was going to be an agent and then got immediately thrown away.

I'm really glad to see him back as The Tick. But I'd also love to see him play a superhero in a Marvel Universe movie.

Venture Brothers is just OK until you get to the "Trial of the Monarch" episode. That's when something clicks and you start to get a sense of the bigger world that's been quietly playing in the background the whole time and it makes the previous episodes retroactively more awesome.

So if I were to try watching Venture Brothers to see if I liked it, is my best bet to start from the beginning?

I'd say yes, so you can get that initial taste of the universe, but stick it out through the first season, or at least skip to episode 12 before passing final judgement. There's enough going for it in those first episodes that it probably won't be too hard to get through anyway. But it gets even better.

Yeah, it's very much about building. You want to start at the start.
