Movies that people love that I think stink:

Robocop
Starship Troopers
Terminator 1 & 2
Total Recall

Honesty, most of those I can see. It takes a certain frame of mind to like those and even then if you have to like them while also realizing their big problems.  Starship Troopers isn't a movie I love and don't see how any one could love it, really.  But Terminator 2?! That's like one of the best action movies ever!

Quote
From what I've heard, the new Robocop had problems with executive meddling.

The head of the studio snuck in "Directive 4", "Must not be en-grossly entertaining and spend the first half of the movie on the origin story."

There isn't a single Schwarzenegger film I like. Not a one. Big sticking point with my inlaws.

Eh, I guess I can get not liking Schwarzenegger (and I don't know what it means that my browser's spell check recognizes that as a word) and by extension of that not liking T2.  But, man, the movie is just awesome.

Might have hurt it that I didn't see it as a teenager. I saw it the year T3 came out.

I liked the Conan movies (Mostly the first one and concepts of the second).

Two gaps in my movie viewing: Conan (both) and Last Action Hero

Never seen the Conan movies either.  "Last Action Hero" probably won't endear you to Schwarzenegger much either.  Nor will it endear you to movies in general.

My wife loves at least one of the Conan movies. I have been enjoying Brian Wood's current Conan comics, so i could see me giving it a go at some point.

But people do point to LAH as a fun movie. (But those same people point to other movies of his as fun too, and I disagree).

Last Action Hero would only really work for you if you're at least somewhat an Ahnold fan. It's a self aware parody of all the parts of his movies you probably already dislike.

Conan the Barbarian is my personal favorite movie he's ever made. Destroyer was mostly wasted potential.

I had never seen Conan until I watched it with the OneWallCinema riff. I didn't regret it, and would never bother watching it without. Yeah, not going to bother with the sequel.
And yeah, Last Action Hero is another "satire" that doesn't really work, kind of like Starship Troopers in that way.

You are correct sir.
(Ed McMahon voice off)

It's not fun, mildly entertaining at best.  And even that is limited to a few moments here and there.

Now, a fun Arnold movie, hmmm, I'd say True Lies, that was fun, and pretty good.  That might be his best work in a role that had a lot of him talking.

Running man had it's moments, but Arnold is probably the weakest link in it.  Same with Eraser, fun movie in spite of Arnold hamming it up.

Now Conan and T2, those I like a lot, including his parts.

I really hate True Lies. A lot.

In fairness, Predator is tremendous. I do have to give Arnie that.

Can't say I like Predator that much,  it's between fair and good for me.

I've never been all that fond of the first half of Predator. Until the Predator starts really doing stuff, it's just a generic (albeit well made) commando movie. Yeah, yeah, you're tough mercenaries, I don't care about the damn political...whatever generically bad asian badguys you are chasing, GET TO THE GODDAMN ALIEN!
I think that's why I like Predator 2 better. Even though cop films aren't my favorite genre either, I like them better than commando films. And that movie is smart enough to know not to try and not show the Predator once he's been fully revealed in the last movie. So he's in it more.
