Despicable Me 2 - Still a light kiddie movie like the first one. But very enjoyable for what it is. The minions are still great, and with the successful larger role they have here makes me hopeful for their solo movie next year. We didn't need the tacked on love interest aspect of it, though. And Lucy Wilde (the Kristen Wiig character) was annoying at times. Also it suffered from the lack of the awesome Vector villain from the first one. But still, it had laughs.
And his bakery he runs at one point is called Bake My Day. Now that is just fucking hilarious!
If they do another one (aside from the minion movie), I would like to see a prequel. Before all the little girls, before the love interest. Just Gru at the height of his villainy.
Either that, or I would like to see the middle girl Edith growing up to become a spy or villain herself. She seemed the most interesting of the three, yet she is the one with the least given for her to do. She's apparently training to be a goddamn ninja or something, and yet we're concentrating on the oldest sister's first love?! Fuck you movie, I wanted to see a little girl in a pink hat with nunchucks kicking ass!
