Yesterday I went to a theatre in Frisco, the same one I always went to, to do this, and watched the final Twilight movie.

Give me as bad a time as you want about it, I care not a whit; I have a thing for Jackson Rathbone, and that's the 'main attraction' for me.

It wasn't bad at all, to me, who'd been expecting it to be far worse. It had an interesting twist that wasn't in the book.

The funniest thing: the theatre was fairly well filled for a 12:30 weekday matinee.  And it was full of women who, like myself, had come alone to watch this.  A Hall of Shame - and yet, with that many people sitting around me who'd done just what I'd done, it was hard to feel ashamed.

Why would you even consider being ashamed about enjoying it?  Haters are worthless, embrace what makes you happy.

Second that.  I haven't seen it yet, and probably won't until DVD with a Rifftrax available, but my wife saw it and loved it.  She enjoyed the books, and in both the book series and movie series says that the end of Breaking Dawn is the best of the story.

Saw Lincoln today.  Best Spielberg movie in over a decade, I'd say.

I thought Super 8 was the best Spielberg movie in over a decade.

Only counts if you're including Producer credits, though Spielberg is an excellent hands-on producer.

I think a joke narrowly missed you...

That's right, this is the forum that never wants to give Minority Report or War of the Worlds their due...

That said, I very much am looking forward to Lincoln. The release date over here mean I probably won't see it in theaters until the AMC Best Picture marathon, though (unless this doesn't get nominated, but I seriously don't see that not happening).

Minority Report stinks. War of the Worlds starts great and then decreases in fun as the movie progresses.

Me too.  It's a complex movie and I think I need to watch it without the riffs to get the most out of both the movie and the RiffTrax of it.  Not a common occurrence.

Just got finished watching Hunger Games for the first time (with Rifftrax). This movie was ungodly slow! I can't beleive this movie got even decent reviews from legitamate reviewers. I can imagine that the book might have been better, but this was just padded like a tween girl's bra.

I didn't dislike Hunger Games... But it was one of those things were I kept thinking that the movie had promise and was going to get better... and it never really did. I still haven't picked up the rifftrax yet, but I probably will at some point if I can buy the movie itself for under $10.

Madagascar 3

Very much a crowd pleaser if you liked either of the first two installments. A lot of fun new characters are introduced all featuring funny voice work, the laughs come from a combination of clever dialog and physical gags. The plot is paced very well, never feeling forced to sticking in one place to milk jokes. The villain might be a bit too over the top... but that's a nitpick.. Just a really well made cartoon that left a big stupid grin on my face for pretty much the entire 90 minutes.

The Avengers
My second viewing, this time on DVD. Sure, the plot is as basic boilerplate comic book as you can get... You know none of the Avengers are going to die, so they shoehorn in the death of Agent Whatshisface for some forced gravitas...  The motivations of the villain are kinda questionable... Like Lux Luthor thinking he can bargain with General Zod...  But none of that matters... The action is fun, the cast delivers the one-liners and the whole thing just has the right vibe... Knowing that he shouldn't risk taking this ridiculous shit too seriously, Whedon just kicks back, has a good time and takes us along for the ride.

Take This Waltz
and shove it.  I wasn't a big fan.  Of all the depressing Michelle Williams movies about failed relationships I would rate this fourth behind Synecdoche New York, Blue Valentine, and Brokeback Mountain.  It wasn't a bad movie.  There were a lot of very interesting visual moments, but it was hard to like it with some of the detestable characters.
