I have to say that the Adele song is the best Bond song in 15 years.

Um, hello? The World is Not Enough? Ok, the movie sucked, but Garbage is pretty ace.

And that was 1998, wasn't it? that's the last really good one. :)

'99, I think, but yeah, it's a good one.

Adele's theme is one of the most memorable in recent memory. Memorable in a good way, not like Madonna's shitty theme.

Bono and The Edge wrote Goldeneye. ;) It's pretty good, but obviously not the best.

I don't even remember the themes from Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace (well, I've never seen Quantum so I guess that's why.)

Yeah, Madonna's was horrible.

Unbelievably.  And I never noticed until it was pointed out to me saying, for no reason, Sigmund Freud.  That's so ridiculous, it sounds like a parody of what Madonna thinks would be clever.

The Revenge of the Nerds 4 movies set.

That reminds me, if three is a trilogy, what's 4?  Quadette maybe?

Anyway, I love the first movie.  I mean LOOOOOVE.  Had quite a crush on Robert Carradine as a girl.  IMDB says he's in the next Tarantino movie.  Excitement!  Also enjoy Brian Tochi. Some good extras on the disc.

The second one is OK.  Like most movies, the sequel isn't too good.  James Hong is in it.  That's the best thing I say about it.  And Courtney Thorne-Smith is cute.

Three and four?  I get a feeling they were originally TV movies.  Lame.

Technically, tetralogy. But that's not really a thing. A trilogy is a set of linked stories (see: Great Dionysia).  Four movies is just four movies, but if you're going to claim it's one story, yes, tetralogy.

"Quadrilogy" is what idiots call it.

:( I read the first post and automatically thought "Quadrilogy"

Well it's not your fault. It's the fault of DVD companies who decided that's a word. I don't think anyone in the world would have went to "Quadrilogy" if FOX hadn't been slapping them on their DVD sets first. :^)

Tetrology just sounds wrong, though. Like it should be 10 movies. I only know a tetrohedron has 4 sides because I just looked it up. SO while it is corrrect, I think most people tend to thingk of the term "quad-" when thinking of something in fours.

It is kind of funny how in everyday usage we tend to switch between Latin and Greek prefixes depending on the number.  Pretty much Latin for 1 to 4, Greek for 5 to 7, 8 is the same in both, Latin for 9, Greek for 10...

My problem lies chiefly in the weird bastardization/hybridization of terms.  Pick one and make sure it stays that way.  Thus it's "polysyllabic," not "multisyllabic," "multilingual" but "polyglot." Etc.

Ha, languages getting bastardized has been a problem forever, no way to stop it.  Especially now that newly made up words can spread and take root so easily.  ;D

*shrugs* It remains true that "quadrilogy" is a term invented by a studio (probably so they could copyright it) and "tetralogy" is the actual term.

I'd hate to use Wikipedia as a source but it says the first use of quadrilogy was in 1865.
So, no copyright, but I'm sure they used it because it sounded more hip than tetrology or a quartet.

Still, wouldn't it be more fun to have a Star Wars "Sextilogy"? :^)

(FUN FACT: While double-checking my prefixes on Wikipedia, I learned that if we were to mix in Sanscrit, it would be the Star Wars "Shatilogy!")

They should just junk all that Latin and Greek nonsense and call it a Fourology.  Something classy like that.

If it's never been copyrighted can't they claim it now?

Nope, copyrights don't work that way, but trademarks do.  It would have to be used in some unique stylistic way to be claimed as a trademark, more than just the word itself.
