I'm hoping that Frankenweenie is good.  I'm not holding my breath though.  I do think that Corpse Bride was a good show, but probably his last good one.

I love Big Fish and Unbreakable, but Beetlejuice is total garbage.

There's rumors that he's doing The Graveyard Book as a stop motion.

Never seen Punch Drunk Love. Is that the one with the teaser trailer was just the voice-over guy trying to do his typical "In a world" type stuff, and they keep interrupting him, and then fire him during the trailer?

Um, no, that was the Jerry Seinfeld documentary "Comedian".

I loved NBC, but I was not that impressed with James and the Giant Peach.  Does he have a specific project in the works?

He did, but Disney canned it midway through production. So, still up in the air as to exactly what he'll be doing next, or if a different company will step in to salvage what's been made.

In the meantime, for folks who want to see an excellent movie that's in the same vein as Selick's stuff, I believe ParaNorman is still in theaters.

He's working on another stop-motion film now, according to the imdb, but there's no specific details.  Did you see Coraline? That's pretty good too.

I loved James and the Giant Peach. That movie was one that defined my childhood.

Coraline is absolutely wonderful! And even though ididn't like James and The Giant Peach, I would see anything coming out by Henry Sellick.

I love the part in Punch Drunk Love when they talk about smashing each other's faces.

Devil
I didn't have high expectations since Shyamalan was involved.  It was okay.  These kinds of movies don't interest me much.  I don't find them scary, and I think that makes them pointless.  I prefer horror/comedies to just horrors. (I just ordered my copy of Cabin in the Woods!)

Apocalypse Now
First time.  I didn't think I would like it, but I actually did.  I was expecting it to be like Deer Hunter, and I really hate Marlon Brando.  I thought it was more like a dark Saving Private Ryan.....perhaps Killing Col Kurtz?  I also liked the ambiguous and psychedelic ending.  And the Doors are always great.

Another one I haven't watch, even though i should. I just don't care for war movies.

Did you watch the original or the Redux?  I've heard that Redux is pretty boring unless you're way into it.  Both are available on Netflix streaming.

Oh I adore this movie. I can see why IM fell asleep, the pacing is slow(er) than "normal" (if normal can be defined in this case), but I think it actually helps create the atmosphere of the film. I love it. Is it on Blu-ray?
