I promised my buddy I would wait till next Thursday to see it.  I'm worried that I may have to go on internet lockdown until then.

So the plot is definitely out there now right? I mean confirmed rather than rumor since it's out in some markets. Now I can see if it's worth seeing or not. :)

The Back to the Future trilogy.  Still great all the way through.  I know some people don't care for 2 or 3, but I think they are all tremendously fun, though obviously the first one is the best.  It's a shame Michael J. Fox can't do much acting these days, because he's pretty damned charismatic in these films.

The BTTF trilogy is still my favorite movie. I say "movie", singular, because I can't watch one of them without watching the other two. Believe me, I've tried.

Beverly Hills Cop  Haven't watched this in a long time.  I swear, the older I get the more I realize that the renegade cop thing is quite counter-productive.  I want a story about the angry police chief archetype, as it's easier to relate to them.  That said, this is Eddie Murphy when he made relatively good decisions with his career.  Seriously, was it the Nutty Professor when he started to lose it, or Beverly Hills Cop 3?

Yeah, I know what you mean about the renegade cop thing. I don't know about following the Chief of Police character, but it would be interesting for a movie to do the typical Lethal Weapon/24 type thing, and it turns out the guys the main character is beating up for info are actually innocent or something.

Joshua Miller did a good job talking about it in his Franchise Me articles about the Lethal Weapon series.

I think the first Nutty Professor it wasn's a cliche yet for Eddie Murphy to do the fat suit stuff (I could be wrong about that). Also, at least the first Nutty Professor, while a remake, did the smart remake thing and changed up several aspects of the movie from the original. Too bad the CGI was shit, but it was the 90s after all.

He made bad films even during his good period, like Harlem Nights, Best Defence, Boomerang, and A Vampire in Brooklyn are all pretty poor to middling films.  Another 48 hours isn't a particularly good sequel either.

Gil Hill would have loved for you to have said that nice and loud at any movie producer you could find around the time BHC was released.
