I always like Freddy's Dead, the inaccurately named final film

Hugo

Wonderful movie, magical, touching, just great.

Got the Blu-Ray 3D.    The 3D is really well done and does add to the magic of the film.  Best serious use of 3D I've seen since Avatar.

I saw Gone on Sunday.  It's kind of a stupid movie, and I probably would have hated it if it hadn't starred Amanda Seyfried.  Something about the way she looks contrasts with the character in the movie enough to make it interesting.

Watched Hugo again, it's even better the second time since you're not thinking about what will happen next.  There's also some early scenes where the style doesn't fully make sense until you know the whole story.

Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro. I've seen this one over and over while browsing Netflix, but never really felt inclined to watch it until my wife suggested it while we were looking for something to watch. She most likely was persuaded by the fact that it was a Miyazaki film, something that I'd never even noticed before. Very different from most of his other work I've seen (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Castle), but I really liked it. It reminded me a lot of Cowboy Bebop in the action and interactions among the characters. That reminds me, I need to watch Cowboy Bebop again . . .

As I understand it Lupin III was a heavy influence in the creation of Cowboy Bebop, so those similar feelings are not unwarranted.

I had a sneaking suspicion . . .

House of the Devil

What did you think of the ending?

My library's showing Hugo, but I think I'll just buy it.

Why sit in a small, cold room full of kids when I can sit in the comfort of my own home?

Just watched that myself tonight. Loved it. Definitely helps if you're familiar with early cinema, too.

Saw Wanderlust the other night.  Hippies aren't exactly the toughest of targets and it gets a little too indulgent with the ad-libbing at point, but it's still quite funny.
