The Television Set.....   really painful to watch and feels like a tv pilot itself, but is still great....  ending killed me though....  so insanely depressing

I tried to rent Bergman's movies after his death from Netflix, but I guess everybody was too.  I watched The Seventh Seal just recently, and am waiting on Wild Strawberries.  Good stuff Maynard.

Wait, he died from Netflix?  I didn't know that it was fatal...

I personally can't think of a more boring way to spend 2 hours than watching the Seventh Seal.

That's neat.  I can't think of a more boring way to spend 2 hours than watching (insert a movie you just saw here).

Nah, I'll just have a midget punch me in the nuts. Same effect, much quicker.

Normal size people punching you in the nuts don't bum you out?  :)

Last flick I watched:

After watching the DVD I prefer the theatrical version more. Also all the fake grain and missing frames and jump cuts really doesn't work at home. It is more annoying than anything else.  They could have marketed the DVD like it was a special edition of an old film. They could have made up a whole backstory of finding a pristine print in some collector's attic somewhere and how they meticulously cleaned up every frame and how they found missing reels etc...

My boyfriend said he was at a bar once, sitting next to his friend on one side, and a pretty girl and.. um I guess midget on the other.  The girl expressed interest in Andy, which was odd because he ignored her, but the small person FLIPPED OUT in jealousy and punched him - they are really, really strong apparently haha, but it started a huge bar fight.   :o

The sing-song way in which the Dutch language is spoken is completely different to any other accent I've heard and for me, it's really off-putting! Talk normal!  ;)

Bahaha!  It's hard not to think of the Swedish chef when you say "sing'song"  ;D

Wild Strawberries makes me cry, as does Fanny and Alexander but I have a hard time not thinking of Deconstructing Harry when watching Wild Str. - haha
Yeah, Allen's 'homagery'  is pretty blatant with that one.  I must confess, I've only ever seen Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries but I loved them both - Strawberries more, because it was relatable - but I did have a problem with them that I still can't seem to get over: The language.  The sing-song way in which the Dutch language is spoken is completely different to any other accent I've heard and for me, it's really off-putting! Dutch?

Whoops.  Silly oversight on my part.  Though, honestly, many of the Scandanavian countries seems kinda interchangeable.  :)
