Saw Lincoln today. Best Spielberg movie in over a decade, I'd say. The cast is absolutely ridiculous. Aside from the obvious talent of Daniel Day Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, David Strathairn and Joseph Gordon Levitt, there are also tons of great character actors who appear in roles of varying size and importance. Lots of great TV alums from shows like Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Deadwood, Justified etc. Really loved it and it's probably my favorite of the year so far. It's maybe a bit longer than it needs to be, but I don't care because all of the acting was so good. Right around when I was starting to feel it drag a little, they started doing the vote in the house on the 13th amendment, and I was right back into it. I wish congressional debate and voting were as awesome as they are in the movie. C-SPAN could charge by the minute and I'd pay it.
