Murder On The Orient Express

Why isn't this on Blu-Ray yet?  Everything about it is just perfect, script, all star cast, beautiful cinematography, great score.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK.

Despite a pretty weak conclusion I loved this, the best 'haunting' movie I can recall since 'The Others' or 'The Ring' really great tension and mood

The Sithmaker!

That's 2 anagrams for George Lucas.

Watched William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet = I really don't like this one and wish I had sought out the Zefferelli version.

Watched 50/50 last night.  I can't help but think if it wasn't a comedy
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
it would have been a shoe-in for several Oscars.

The Sentinel

Wow, what a horribly paced and edited movie.  The concepts were good enough and the cast was interesting enough to keep me watching to the end, but damn this could have been a much much better movie.  Oh well, at least now it can never be said that I haven't seen Beverly D'Angelo masturbate then strip naked and play the cymbals.

I was very suprised by this movie, not at all what I thought it would be.  Turned out it was thoughtfull, heartfelt, and very well acted.  I thought it was going to be  typical Seth Rogen fare.  While he did his normal shtick, I was moved by the other actors performances.

On the other hand, I'm so happy they didn't take that route. I found the ending so satisfying & sweet.

Rogen's performance was wonderful.

Earlier this morning, I finally got around to watching  Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Tudyk & Labine bring the fun, and there's some great sight gags. Those unsympathetic college kids, killing themselves all over Tucker's property!!   :D

I agree, seth Rogen is totally underated as an actor, both actors were great.

Watched Contagion last night.  Holy crap.  What made it scary was how easily this could happen.  It's a wonder it hasn't happened yet.  Well, again if the count the Black Plague.

Pretty well acted.  Nice seeing Jennifer Ehle, been a fan of hers for a while.

Ratatouille

I always thought this one was a mess... Pixar's first truly unfocused effort... and I still pretty much feel that way... But after watching a few times with my kids over the last month or so, it's grown on me a bit.... even Garafalo's laughably inconsistent french accent. Ian Holm is a voice acting tour de force as the villian... his work here is pretty much the main thing that makes repeated viewings enjoyable... I laugh or chuckle or smile at just about every line from Chef Skinner. The typically top notch Pixar art direction and character design made the notion of a thousand rats running a kitchen only slightly unsettling instead of outright nauseating like it should rightly have been.

Due to my super-fun depression induced insomnia I hadn't slept in about 40 hours and thought it would be fun to re-watch this so I could get a headstart on ideas for the iRiff.  In that state it a) made a lot of sense & b) was really good.
