Is their new record any good? ... (I've had it for a while now but lost it somewhere in my mess of a room )

Yeah, it's pretty good.  I like Rag and Bone.  It's one of those albums you have to listen to over and over again before you can fully appreciate it.

Album's pretty good, but I was really surprised how great they were live.... first time I saw them in 2003 I didn't think much of them, but caught the tail end of their set at Bonnaroo and they sounded great... shame about the remainder of the tour

Such a shame, i was planning on going to the show in Salt Lake.  Oh well :)

But Icky Thump is a pretty awesome album. Surprisingly they are one of a few bands where i have liked all of their albums.  Most of their songs are simple and catchy (in a good way) so i like them

Wow - that really sucks.  My friend has a sort of behind-the-scenes/documentary on their earlier work, concerts, etc - and I can imagine performing on stage a half love song you wrote for your now - ex - wife - sitting - right -behind - you must be emotionally taxing.

Honestly, if you got divorced and then you watched your partner/ex-lover/bandmate get remarried... I don't know, maybe I'm too sentimental, but there's no way I could do a show every night with that kind of emotive history.

I have never seen them live, but I've seen their live tv spots, and they seem pretty high-energy. That speaks well for a band when their live performances beat a lot of their recordings.

Is Meg panicking over the fact she can't drum to save her life?

I don't know her personally, but percussion isn't really a big part of the sound of the White Stripes.  It's basically his guitar licks, crazy vocals, and the blues/folk infusion.

Exactly, I believe he could get the Phonics Monkey to fill in and go on with the tour as planned.

The Phonics Monkey's boobs don't jiggle quite as nicely as hers, plus I think that might be inconsiderate to her as a person to have a monkey do her job.  It might heighten her anxiety.

Guh, rather you than me old boy, she's got a face like a French Bulldog.

And you know she's a really really bad drummer I think the Phonics Monkey could probably do a better job, even if he did stop the set occasionally for a quick hand shandy.

I didn't say her face, her boobies.  A "hand shandy" in the middle of the set would be pretty Rock n' Roll.
