Futurama! Bender's Big Score
« on: August 29, 2007, 11:15:06 PM »
This should probably be in Movie Talk, but it was originally a TV show, so I'm putting it here.

If, like me, you miss Futurama... and wish it were back... well, on November 27th, we're getting our (and your) wish.

Pre-order the first direct-to-DVD movie, "Bender's Big Score", at the link below:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UZDO62/102-7715528-3738509?ie=UTF8&tag=rifftraxcom-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B000UZDO62

Also, if you're interested in keeping tabs, the awesome page at Can't Get Enough Futurama has a page dedicated to the 4 DVDs coming out here:

Hopefully once they chop up these dvds and air them on Comedy Central the ratings will be so big that they have to bring it back!

So... Hermes loses him body.  If Bender didn't do that, I'd be surprised.

Indeed, and I'd much rather it be on ComCen or something. Fox can't do anything except let good shows get cancelled, and mediocre shows go into 9+ seasons.

Does this include the bonus feature "Everybody loves Hypnotoad", or was that just a joke?

It's supposed to be a full episode of "everybody loves hypnotoad" I'm almost certain that this is going to be the animation/noise of the hypnotoad looking straight at the camera looped for 22 minutes...maybe with opening/closing credit sequences and some ad breaks if were lucky.

Hmm. I don't know if I love that idea, or hate it.

My guess is it's there for pure novelty factor and is not high on watchability.  I see it as comparable to the option on the Galaxy Quest  DVD to watch the movie in Thermian.

Or on one of the Aqua teen hunger force dvds where the "Play All Episodes" button would divide the screen into 6 and play all 6 episodes simultaneously.

They're funny for a few seconds in a "I can't believe someone wasted their time making this" kind of way....
