It is brilliant. One wouldn't think Metroid's music would transfer well from being atmospheric to metal. But it does, oh yes it does. And a plus, is I'm pretty sure metroid metal is done by Savatage.

Sorry I worded that wrong, I shouldn't have said, "one wouldn't think Metroid's music would transfer well from being atmospheric to metal." I should have said, "My sister doesn't think Metroid's atmospheric sound transfers well to metal." I think its fantastic, and you, embedded sphincter hair, are quite right.

I really like this song by The Black Dahlia Murder. "What A Horrible Night To Have Curse"

It's a cool song, plus the band seems to have a good sense of humor about themselves, and on top of that, the song title is a reference to Castlevania 2.

All Shall Perish "Eradication".  The vid is a bit weird, but the music is nearly the epitome of brutal.  Though my favorite ASP song is either "Prisoner of War " or "There is no Business to be Done on a Dead Planet" this is the only actual vid I could find.

This vid continues the Death Metal video trend: show some gory stuff, a woman in peril, and corny shots of the band gyrating, and you have your video.
Unfortunately, it doesn't do much to make the band look as brutal as they sound.

The song is not bad, though.

I listened to the clip of "There is no Business to be Done on a Dead Planet" on iTunes, and agree, that song is much better.

i haven't listened to a lot of metal recently, but i would have to say "unintelligent design" by cattle decapitation or "fault and fracture" by converge are my favorites right now. in fact, anything by cattle decapitation and converge are good standbys.

I basically like anything by Tarja era Nightwish or Within Temptation. Delain is another favorite metal group of mine as well.
