I've had notoriously bad luck with computers. About a year and a half ago, I bought a computer to build. Did well, put everything in properly. Thought I'd not have any problems. It begins to BSoD. Constantly. Everything gets tested, and everything's in working order, as far as anyone can tell. I'm told that it's either a corrupt installation of Windows, or my Mobo's damaged. I reinstall, and still get the blue screens. I call up Asus, wanting to get a replacement. They're pretty crappy and dodge around the issues until almost a year later, after the warranty's almost up.

FINALLY, they reply and have me ship the mobo back, and send me a replacement. There was a problem with that one, too. NO video output. None. I tried it with card, without card, VGA, HDMI, you name it. I'm done with messing with thing myself, so I take it to a friend who is pro at this sort of stuff. He replaces the board, the GPU, and the RAM. He gives it back to me JUST before I move out of state. I get it all set up in my new place, and BAM, same issues. Redo the OS again. At this point, I'm beginning to think that this machine is out to get me, because these bluescreens are only happening to me, and only during normal activities. I send him everything back, he replaces it all, and sends it back. SAME. DAMN. PROBLEM.

About a month ago, I decided to bid farewell to that Machine of Hatred. I bought a fully assembled one from Newegg, which worked great... except the graphics card kept overheating. -_- Swapped it out for the one in the Evil Machine, and now it works great. This one's better, anyway.

Well, here's your problem right here.

Let's imagine I wasn't lazy and did something clever with those kittens in that computer.

Pretty impressive, eh?

Yeah, I accidentally fried a motherboard by messing with the battery. So I took it back to Fry's and acted like it came that way and got a replacement. This time I decided to get a prebuilt computer from Newegg. While I don't have a problem with anything overheating, one of the fans is ridiculously loud when it first starts up and the video card is weak. But for $450, what do you expect?

Does Audacity work on win7 64bit?  With the proper plug-ins it will read and write wav and ACC files.  Audacity is what I use for all my re-authoring work, does a good job with the auto-ducking.

Yes, it does.
That's good news.  I've been planning to upgrade in the next few months and I was kind of afraid I would have to continue my reauthoring projects on my old dinosaur.

My particular Pinnacle Studio program is not compatible with W7 unfortunately and have a dedicated XP setup for my reauthors.. :-[
I would have to buy a new capture card if I want to try and run a newer version of Pinnacle on a W7 setup but the reviews I've seen have not convinced me to go that route yet.. :-\

Audacity works with Windows 7 64 bit but now I have two new problems.  First Rejig is ripping the entire movie's audio into a file that either lasts four seconds or 19 minutes, either way it can't be used.  Second I can find a way to open the movie audio in audacity at the same time as the Rifftrax so I can create one audio final, every time I try it just opens a second window for audacity that can't be used with the first.

Any idea what is going on?  Sorry for all the questions but this is my first time reauthering.

Okay I figured out how to open both files at the same time but I still have the problem of the movie's entire audio running in one 19 second burst.

Yeah I have posted in a thread in that section but that place seems to be completely dead so I figured I'd have better luck getting help in the computer thread.

Maybe if those threads were moved to the general section instead of way down at the bottom of the forum more people would use them.

The guide in the latest thread (the one to which you responded) was posted less than twenty-four hours ago. Why don't you give it at least a whole day before you declare it "completely dead." Mmmkay?

Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone.  I have just been working on these files all day and was looking for some help fast.  Again sorry if I upset you, that was not my intent.

I got the audio problem fix by using Youtube downloader to convert the movie's audio to MP3 format, now I am just trying to get the audio and the Rifftrack synced up.  It's kind of hard when you can't see the character's lips moving.
