I don't know how it's possible but this movie gets worse every time I watch it.  It's like an onion of stupidity that goes on forever.  Perhaps I just absorb one more incredibly awful thing at a time, my mind rebelling against the horror of it, and the next time I see the movie I have adjusted to that aspect and I'm ready to pick up the next.

Good riffing still.  I rather enjoyed the world's slowest fireball...

Independence day is a movie that tries to make sense and be dramatic, but it utterly fails because it has a hell of a lot more shots of people looking and screaming than anything else. BTW... does anybody have any idea why the aliens waited at all to attack? Is there any reasonable explanation for that that can be derived from anything that went on in the movie?

Oh Yeah... Why the hell did it take 46 minutes for anything to happen in the goddamn movie? I know there's a such thing as stretching tension, but that's just ridiculous.

I like the film, and I really liked the riff. There were some bad parts, and the special effects sometimes lacked, (but it WAS 1996, people,) but overall it's good science fiction action fun.

Favorite line: After the Harrison Ford dealie,
"Okay, now let's watch stuff blow up."

This is a bad movie.  The special effects were great.  This isn't science fiction.  It's just explosions and one-liners and aliens.

Does anyone else notice there's more video game jokes when Bill is around?

The movie is utterly ridiculous, but totally watchable.  The rifftrax was good, though I wasn't laughing quite as much as hoped I would.

I thought independence day could have only gone in one of two directions... too serious or too cheesy. Either way it would have been a bad movie, no matter what. The rifftrax kicked ass though, made me laugh throughout the film.

An excellent rifftrax. Perhaps my favorite so far (and I've seen all but six or so).

It helped that the movie had the perfect ingredients for riffing: competent, but stupid.

This movie gets dumber the more you see it.   Man, the "human interest" stories were pathetic and Harvey Firestein (sp) and Judd Hirsh were horrible.   I have no idea what they were trying to do.

Good News:            Millions died, but the dog did not.
Gooder News:        Very hilarious rifftrax.
