Yeah, what is indie pop.  Name some bands cuz I tend not to label music.  It's pointless unless your trying to develop a radio station format so you can sell commercials to 18-25 year-olds.

It's pop, but it's manufactured independently. Nothing really different about the music really.

Well see Indie means something specific if your talking about British music but other thing in other places. I don't mind Indie as far as I understand it, the Soupdragons were quite entertaining.

In my opinion, using indie as a way to classify a certain type of music is totally redundant. It doesn't describe anything at all, other than the fact that it was probably recored on an 8-track with (more or less) crappy equipment. Other than sound quality, independent cannot describe anything about the actual content of the music.

No but what I'm saying is in the sphere of British Music it was a specific term to describe what was essentially ur-Brit Pop.

It was fun to break the news in Riffchat this morning.

You know, I'm having a tiny parade inside my heart right now.  And everyone's invited.

There are some people on the forum who I wouldn't want inside my internal organs, but that's why you're so awesome.  ;D

Well, I have no idea what he's talking about but I love the Apples in Stereo, who are pretty poppy.

Yeah, I was meaning to ask the Hemorrhoid what he meant by "indie pop," as the two terms are basically antithetical, but I guess the point is moot now.

I wonder if he meant something like Peeping Tom?
my entry made my girlfriend laugh a few times, the best I can hope for really.

I'd say Whalberg definately qualifies as really good.

Well, I don't know what He Who Shall Be Forgotten (and Gladly) meant by that but....

My favorite group is Garbage and they're accused of being pop even though they're alternative....
