Well, if that's the kind of commercial you have to deal with on a daily basis where you live, I can understand you disliking local commercials. I myself sometimes find local commercials can have a certain charm to them. At least local commercials are usually fairly straightforward and easy to understand. And sometimes, if they're done right, they can actually be quite clever. There's a series of commercials in my area that I wish I could find on youtube featuring "The Continuing Saga Of Darryl & Darlene". Basically it's about this oblivious redneck and his smart, disaster-prone wife. Basically the plot of each commercial is Darlene notices something wrong with their house, such as the plumbing, mentions it to Darryl and suggests they look for alternate housing, Darryl either tries unsuccessfully to fix, downplays the seriousness of, or outright denies the existance of the problem, and disaster befalls poor Darlene. Then the announcer talks about the mobile home dealer who these commercials are for This, without exaggeration, is probably what a script for a Darryl & Darlene ad looks like.
ANNOUNCER: (Over title card) And now the Continuing Saga of Darryl & Darlene!
DARLENE: Darryl, the plumbing is broken. We need a new house.
DARRYL: Don't worry, woman. It'll cost less if I fix it. (Hits pipe with sledgehammer. Pipe comes off, and Darlene is splashed with water, getting her
all wet.)
DARLENE: Dar-ryl!!!
Yes it's cheesy, but intentionally so. And that's what makes it so brilliant.
