I hate this blond, wild-eyed woman in these new Nutrasystem spots!  Got nothing to do with jealousy....she's just SO FREAKING ANNOYING!!!!!!

And I don't believe she was fat anymore than most of these people on these modern weight loss spots.  It's too easy to photoshop these pics.

The Madonna one is also fecking irksome, she didn't invent MTV, the man whose mum invented Liquid Paper did.

Don't get me wrong.....you gotta love Papa Nez.  But he learned 90% of what he knows about TV and video from Rafelson and the other guys while working on "The Monkees".

I mean, the little musical bits seperate from the plots to feature songs from their albums....you could say those were the genesis of MTV.  First one I remember that was a real "music video" was the one where the other three were chasing Peter through the catwalks in the studio...

Is she the one who says "I'm not a model, I just happen to look like one"?

Didn't know models had crunchy bleached blonde hair and eyes far enough apart to drive a semi between, but I'll be sure to remember that in the future.

Do you mean Madonna?  Cuz I wouldn't call her anything's finest.

She stole her look from Monroe, her only good songs were because of Stephen Bray's input and the only two times she came even close to "acting" was when she played sluts and users (Desperately Seeking Susan, A League of Their Own) so it wasn't much of a stretch.

I think if you want to be a true non-conformist, you should dress like a yuppie and play easy-listening music.  No one would expect it.

"I'm so bohemian, like you"  -  The Dandy Warhols

As I went out one evenin' down Columbus Avenue
All the sushi bars were shuttered, dark cantinas too
And I stood there in the darkness,as an empty cab rolled by
Then all at once I heard the sound of yuppies in the sky

Then the herd came down Columbus, for as far as I could see
All the men were wearing Polo, and the women wore Esprit
Each yuppie had a Walkman and as each one passed me by
I saw their sad expressions and I heard their mournful cry

Chorus:
Condos for sale, condos to buy, yuppies in the sky

Each one was wearing running shoes upon the ghostly deck
And each one had a cotton sweater wrapped around the neck
They all held out their credit cards and tried in vain to buy
But not a store was open to the yuppies in the sky.

(Chorus)

(The yuppie-i-o)
I've seen them in commercials sailin' boats and playin' ball
Pourin' beer for one another cryin', "Why not have it all?"
Now I saw the ghostly progress as the winds around me blew
Till I, I felt the urge to purchase a BMW

(Chorus)

All the salad bars were empty, all the Quiche Lorraine was gone
I heard the yuppies crying as they vanished in the dawn
Calling brand names to each other, as they faded from my view
They'll be networking forever down Columbus Avenue
(Move those mini-vans out!)

- "Yuppies In the Sky" by Tom Paxton

just thought of another one. Those c-a-l-l-a-t-t commercials with David Arquette. Those commercials came straight from Satan's bottom. He wore that crappy sweatshirt with the big touch-tone buttons on it, yelling "dial down the center!". I wanted to go up to him and dial down the center of his chest with a goddamn brick.
