Rolling Stone hated "The Watchmen" though, and for really stupid reasons.

Well, my modest hopes for the film have been dashed now that I've seen the new design for the Klingons:

(No, it's not real. It's from Burger Kings' latest ad campaign.)

Will Mt. Dew-a-Tron have a part in Star Trek??  Will Michael Bay direct the next iteration of this reboot??

mrbasehart:
Okay, so I just saw it.  Generally, I thought it was pretty kick ass!  It's fast, has some great action moments, and neat interactions between the crew.  The cast are excellent (though perhaps some people won't be able to accept different actors with slightly different interpretations) with Quinto as Spock perhaps the stand out of the bunch, with a more emotionally charged Spock, which isn't to say he's emoting all over the place, it's just that it seems harder for him to control his emotions than TOS ever could (though given the plot specifics - which I won't go into - it's understandable).  Only a couple of things annoyed me: sometimes the movie feels a little too light in its dramatic moments, specifically a scene which although funny on its own, sort of undermines the atmosphere of the proceeding events.  And while the motivation of the bad guy is solid, the events explaining how he got to the point where he wants to destroy the Federation are flimsy, and poorly told.  Overall though, it's easily in the top 3 Trek movies (along with Khan and First Contact).  There are some interesting cameos too.

If anyone wants spoiler answers, I'd be happy to provide them.

I know lots of people who hated Watchmen for a great many reasons - most made sense to me.

Read Mr. Basehart's spoilers in the other thread.  Good luck to Paramount with this....they tried this with ENT on free TV and what did that get them?
