I wasn't informed, I am sure others know, but for the ones like me who didnt I thought I would put this out there. ;)

I am hoping that JJ Abrams can do for Star Trek what he did for the last Mission Impossible film..... make a good film!

Well, from what I understand, it's going to be a prequel... so all bets are off in terms of potential quality.

I think this one's going to be very polar- either very bad or very good. As a cynic, I know where I'm placing MY bets.

Blueguy:
It's kind of old news.  Last word is that it's supposed to be a prequil that focuses on Spock and Kirk at the academy, or maybe just after.  Heard they're trying to land big name people for the roles, which I think is a bad idea. 

Some of the past Trek cast have said they think the series needs to start moving forward again instead of looking to the "past" like it has been, and I totally agree.
