The strats look great and the addition of "solo" buttons is an awesome touch!  This is going to be such a geek toy but I can't wait.

GROOVY...cant wait to waste countless hours of my life on this...the Fender looks way better than the Gibson guitar controllers....tho i prefer Gibson in real life music

Hopefully there won't be any lag issues in this game. That would just suck.

Also, is this game gonna be compatible with the Guitar Hero guitars? I don't want to waste money on controllers I already have.

Yeah they said in an interview on IGN that the controller from Guitar Hero II on Xbox 360 will be compatible, but i myself and still tempted to get that Stratocaster.  And they dont really have an update yet about pricing for each of the "controllers" but i do hope that its not going to be super expensive.

I will still get the Rock Band guitars for the solo frets!  A friend and I have talked about having those extra buttons since GH 1 came out.

There is not going to be a version for the PS2 and right now there is no way to use a PS2 guitar on the PS3. The only adapter out there is so limited that it is not worth even trying it (no hammer ons/pull offs, no tilt).

My impression of that video is that the developers set up a beta version in the broom closet for a little jam session.  I must say, it looks like a lot of fun, but the game is going to cost a fortune for all those instruments.

With the game play very much like Guitar Hero and the fact that you can play through the game solo as either guitar or drums or vocals I would pay "Steel Battalion" prices or even higher for the peripherals.

Let's see if Harmonix and MTV can keep their promises about downloadables (100 songs in the first year) unlike Red Octane and Activision (most downloadable songs of any 360 game my ass).

hehe...don't get me wrong, this game will be purchased.  After that, I just need to get a PS3 to play it on.
