Not-So-Fantastic Four Thoughts...
Just Some Guy:
No thoughts topic yet? Guess I might as well start it.
A solid outing on the rifftrax side of things. I laughed, I cried, I hated the movie along with them.
The thing that really struck me about the movie was the absolute lack of continuity. There were a handful of jokes about it but there were things like Doom's scar switching the side of his face, the fact that Doom couldn't keep track of how many members of the Fantastic Four he took out, the costume changes between shots, the day/night switches, the fact that someone in isolation managed to get a personalized license plate made, and so on. The whole movie was sloppy work that just narrowly avoided plunging down the Wicker Man/Battlefield Earth hole...
David:
There were a few great lines, like Thing getting a big stalagmite, and the riffs on that iron satan mask being a humanitarian gift (Seriously, WTF?)
Also Mr. Fantastic managed to kneel down twice because it was a (admittedly stupid) visual joke - you saw just the legs kneel then there was a shot with his stretched torso which then went down. I guess they missed that but nobody's perfect.
GregMcduck:
A very solid outing, kept a steady pace of funny through the whole thing.
I give it four     out of five.
shakasulu:
Loved it, but I'm sort of suprised they no sold the third ending with Doom. Not that much happened, but still.
Cosmic Muse:
Dear Michael J. Nelson and anyone else wondering,
As a sacrificial lamb representative of the Fantastic Four Comicbook/Various Cartoons fanbase I take full responsibility and personal blame for the introduction of the Dr. Doom Humanitarian Mask in this movie. You see originally there was going to be no mask at all and that Doom's "mask" was going to be one that naturally grew from his face as the organic metal encompassed his body throughout the movie as per the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic continuity I believe (Not an expert on that series of comics because, well I just don't like them as a reimagining of a comic series that had been around since the 60's. I don't like drastic reimaginings in general though.) instead of the more traditional Dr. Doom from the classic continuity. We the fans protested this change and wanted that more classic styled Dr. Doom so this is why the mask was included in this movie as well as passing mentions of Latveria as a sort of compromise. I also distinctly recall in the preproduction phase they were not even calling him Victor Von Doom as he's named in the comics, which made us even angrier, causing them again to compromise, nixing the name change to a more generic sounding name which escapes me at the moment. Again, if any of the fanbase's pleas for more classic continuity inclusions in this movie is offensive to you, feel free to bomb me with rotten organic vegetables if you'd like.
P.S. Loved the Prince of Space callback at the end.
Sincerely,
Lady Decepticon
