TV Quitters?

Travel: Most Haunted. (WHAT?)
And so on. It's maddening.

Especially the super crappy Most Haunted.

Is that the show with the English douche who dresses in the fancy suits, frosts his hair and wears ear rings? I hate any show where more than 40% of the overall footage is done with an incredibly blurry, out of focus night-vision camera that's zoomed right up people's noses while they stand in dark rooms and jump at every goddamn noise they hear.

I saw a bit where they where throwing marbles down a hall and keeping track of which colors where being thrown back. Which was hilarious, because they WHERE IN THE DARK. Five minutes of this crap, the host yelling at the house, trying to goad it into playing marbles with her.

The real talent in that show were the stagehands who didn't start wooping it up as they threw that nutball marbles.

I can't watch that show for more than 5 minutes before I find myself screaming at the top of my lungs at the TV and shaking whatever blunt object I can find at the screen as if I can scare them into shutting up.

Once you start yelling at the TV, you may end up getting along pretty well with the lady who yells at houses.

Or I may yell at her the same way, which might make for an awkward moment.

Crazy Lady: "Ohmygod what was that!? Shhh!"
Me: "IT WAS THE FUCKING SOUND GUY BACKING INTO THE WALL YOU STUPID GODDAMN COW!"

My cousin's girlfriend and I watched that show a little bit when she was here over a holiday, and we ended up naming the English guy Captain Spooky.

Startgate still seems to be the saddest thing on TV. I've never seen more than 5 minutes at a time, but anytime i see it, while flipping channels, I see some new kind of stupid.

  As long as Cartoon Network continues to broadcast Adult Swim, I'm not quitting TV whole hog.

  I do barely watch TV conciously, however. It's usually on in the background though.

I wish I could backround it, but I just can't. My eyes are drawn towards shiny moving things, my ears are drawn towards noisy stupid things, and I have very little control over it.

I don't know it's not a moral thing or anything, I just never get round to watching much.

For the record TV Shame Syndrome has nothing to do with morals, its the idea that people will lie about their TV viewing habits because they feel it will be looked down upon by others... when I hear people say that they don't watch TV I usually assume they are lying

Oh I absolutely waste time with other things just not TV generally. Though I will watch pretty much anything if there's going to be an appearance by Gina Torres
