Bawdiness rating (real)
« on: September 28, 2006, 12:56:17 AM »
Bawdiness Rating: G/PG

Language: A few bad words, mostly towards the end
Topic: More grade-school potty humor than anything

I've have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this Rifftrax, I even thought it was going to be the first "G" rated one until the last third of the movie or so.  And even then, the words used weren't the harshest out there.  It was quite enjoyable to hear the banter back and forth between Mike and Bill Corbett (you'll recognize him as Crow from MST3K), who seems to takes an 'observational satire' approach to his Riffing.  Mike and Bill feel more alike in style than Mike and Kevin did, usually reflecting a critical, smart approach in the riffs they throw out instead of a good-cop / drunken-fratboy team.  There was a little bit of off color humor that showed up here and there, but it was pretty much elementary-school level, a tad bit disappointing, but much, much better than it could have been.

Overall, a good Rifftrax, if you don't mind letting your kids watch X-Men, you shouldn't have a problem with this one.

Just thought I would post this for the dozen or so of us on this board who are concerned about it. ;)

Did anyone else find it confusing when Wolverine identified himself by calling Cyclops a "dick"?   As far as I could tell, Cyclops was not named Richard, nor was he employed as a private investigator.

Yeah, they probably would have gotten a bigger laugh if Logan had called Scott a penishead.  And the movie was lacking a good fart scene.
I remember reading somewhere that the "You're a dick!" line came from Joss Whedon, who worked as a script doctor on X-Men.  He also wrote the Storm lines about a Toad being hit by lightning, but hated the reading Halle Berry gave them.
