Saw Huw Lloyd Langton last night in PA supporting Brainticket and Nektar.

First time I've seen him do "Rocky Paths" acoustic!

I saw Def Leppard and Heart with two of my friends on Saturday. It was a pretty cool show.

Saw The Dropkick Murphys and Mighty Mighty Bosstones at Fenway park the other night. It was pretty awesome. In honor of one of the last songs Dropkicks played Shawn Thornton brought out the Stanley Cup on stage for "Time to Go!"

My friend Richie texted me a photo of him and Dickey backstage from the show last night.  We should go to the Throwdown this year.

Off to review Mr Big tomorrow night.  Anybody remember them?

They're back after something like 13 years with a new album.

Nope. I am pretty sure his daughter refers to Dickey as "Uncle Dickey".

Just come back from Mr Big.  They were great! They played a 400 or 500 sized-place like it was an arena and they seemed to love the hell out of it.  Could've done without the 4-minute bass guitar solo, though.

Yeah for smaller shows they put the stage on top of the bullpens and use the outfield bleachers. For a more intimate setting....

I think they're called Mr.Big everywhere in the world.  :)

Just got back from a gig at the Folk House here in Bristol where Paper Aeroplanes were playing.  They were realy good, though the place was heaving.  Support acts were excellent too.

I've never been to a rock concert in my life. I've been to plenty of orchestral concerts, the kind where you actually sit down and it's mostly old people attending. My father absolutely despises all music that isn't at least 100 years old, and for some reason I just followed his lead for most of my life. Then about 4 years ago I just happened to watch a Youtube video with a Rhapsody (of Fire) song in the background and I was like "This is awesome! What is this?" Ever since then I've been a fan of metal and hard rock. I always used to assume I hated metal, but I never really listened to it.

The problem is, I feel like I'm too old now to attend a rock or metal concert. The sort of people who attend concerts of the bands I like are mostly teens, and I'm now in my mid 30's. I'd just feel out of place.

I still go to shows and I am 39! I don't go in the pits like I used to but I never feel out of place. You would be surprised the wide range of ages at any given show.
