Good to know.  Got a few ideas floating around for possibilities, several of them being the often suggested trax that don't seem likely to get the full Rifftrax treatment.  (Not well known or available enough etc.)  Something like that seems like the perfect candidate, as the people who'd suggest it would be the ones more likely to download a fan-riff (I might not have that right at all, but it's a good thought.)

Here are some of the titles that got three or more votes in my top 50 rifftrax request poll that did not make the top 50 and that aren't likely to be done anytime soon:

Dungeons & Dragons
Young Guns
Lost in Space
Labyrinth
Signs
Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
Legend
Gymkata
Judge Dredd
Excalibur
Flatliners
Eraserhead

I'm in.  Of the ones from Greg's list I have,

Young Guns
Labyrinth
Signs
Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
Judge Dredd
and
Flatliners ( I was one of the ones who had this on my list.

I really liked Signs so that one would be harder for me to rip on but any of the others could be fun.

Don't restrict your choices on my account.

Interesting choices all, two of Greg's are already on my shelf too.  I won't say which except that Tim Curry might have back problems from holding up the headgear and David Bowie should never wear anything that tight again.   ;D

Dungeons & Dragons would be interesting to do, in fact I've sort of done it already with friends, just didn't have the means to record it at the time.

So would it be useful to have status icons on the Fan Riff index?

Essentially listing which ones are accepting riff, which are being recorded and which are available to download/watch/generally enjoy?

I brought this up to Tripe.  Only 9 of the 30 or so links actually take you to actual finished riffs.

See I was going to mention that after some positive feedback if there was any, I didn't want you to take the heat for an unpopular idea if it went that way :)

Status icons sound like a good idea.  Better than clicking a link on the road to disappointment (oh, this one won't be out until August, damn)

Well look at that, shortly after the Fan Riff Index goes up, I get some more downloads.

Knew that was a good idea.  Thanks Tripe for making the thread, and thanks to Gammer for the new board.

Glad to hear it.  Sadly, I'm not in control of the site that mine is hosted on, so I have no idea if anyone is watching anymore or not.  It was a little easier to keep track of when I was mailing disks out myself.

I just have mine up on Divshare, and it keeps count of downloads of each file through its dashboard page.  Nice and convenient.

I have no web skills at all and a fellow board member offered to host my DVD covers so I asked him to host the riff too.  Wonder if he has a way of telling how many downloads we've had.  So far I know of one, and that was one of the Quiptracks guys friends from school.

Ok well I suppose I'll work on some icons then  :)

Oh and I alphabetized the index, by creator not by title of movie, I think I have those chronologically within each creator but do let me know if that's not the case.

So I was thinking something like this

For "Now Accepting Riffs"
For "In Post Production"

I need a nice "Now Available" sign but I'm having difficulty finding one so I might have to make one.
