Good start so far, not sure if they increased the level of detail in the animation but is seems like it, the first 2 looked fantastic on my TV...

I'm just really, REALLY hoping that there's some further plot development coming, because if the Northern Water Tribe leader is the Big Bad, it's going to feel embarrassingly obvious. He's got a blatantly obvious motive, suspicious abilities, and an apparent ambition for power. I would honestly like it if the series gave some perfectly reasonable explanation for all of his actions and had a different reason for unrest in the Spirit World, because otherwise it would just seem like lazy writing to me.

Well, things sure have been set up quick, guess this season is going to be more like one from The Last Airbender.  Everything pretty much set up at the start and we just have to see what twists they come up with as the battle commences.

Half way though the season.

Pretty obvious "twist" with Varrick.

Not so sure what Unalaq is up to now, just when you thought he was responsible for what happened to Korra he was surprised his kids didn't capture her...

Kind of upset that Varrick  might be a villain.  He's my favorite character this season.

It does seem like your typical all for profit "industrialist bad guy" plot, so yeah, kind of disappointing.

I hope Asami can still be an "industrialist good gal" by the end...

oh, I don't care about the stereotypical plot.  To be honest, I'm not expecting much out of the plot anymore, sadly. I just mean that he's easily the funniest character on the show and really enjoyable to watch.

Yeah, he has been the only successful comic character so far.  Everything funny they have tried to do with Bolin has been pretty awful this season.  That's the only real complaint I'd make.

It would be a change to have a goofy/funny character be the bad guy.  I suppose there's still a chance he is being set up by someone else.  Everything we "know" is indirect evidence so far.

I'm still hoping the spirit world stuff turns out to be interesting, the next 2 episodes should tell.  I think both are supposed to air Friday.

Really liked the origin story for the first avatar.  It also explains a few things about what the giant turtle showed Aang.

It does bring up some questions about how/why there were spirits still around in the human world after the first avatar did all his stuff.

The last 2 episodes are streaming a week early on the Nickelodeon website.

A pretty strong second half of the season.  I'm mostly happy with how things turned out.

Been thinking about the season a bit, I won't retract the "mostly happy" statement but there were some major flaws (major spoilers for the last 4 episodes of book 2):

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Still liked all the spirit world stuff, and all the stuff with Tenzin's family, and since that was the bulk of the season I guess I'll stick with mostly happy.  But not feeling all that enthusiastic about seasons 3 and 4.
