Called another local shelter about their kittehs.  They seem to be better about updating PetFinder with new cats that are up for adoption than the 2 we are pre-approved to adopt from already, but they don't list their address on their craptastic angelfire/geocities looking website. They say to call and get the address which is weird. Even the email I sent last week was immediately replied to with an auto reply saying to call.  I have a feeling it's out of some crazy cat lady's home.

But they have a few kittens that look like my old cat (and wurwolf & APGiL's cat Todd) so I'm hoping they call back at some point.

If I may ask, what made you guys decide to get another cat? (P.S. Todd is snoring in excitement.)

I miss having one around.  Plus the boy has been BEGGING to have one.  He still talks about the old ones we had.

We're not desperate to get a cat, but if we find one we really like we'll go for it.

That's awesome. Good luck, and I hope you find the buddy of your dreams!  :highfive:

I recently got 2 hedgehogs from a friend who is a breeder and it is great! Though it is a challenge to pet them at first because every time they are put in a sort of uncomfortable spot, they readily spike up every time making way for the need to use thicker gloves just to hold them.  They are really nice though and a step up from my great love for rodents.

I went to the Houston Doberman adaption place (www.hadr.og) and picked up a perfect 4 year old doberman that has PERFECT brains and personality and acts great.   She is the perfect dog.

I think hedgehogs are adorable and I would love to have one. Sadly, they're illegal in Pennsylvania. They are just the cutest things, though.

I love rodents, too. The only rodent I really dislike is the rat, and that's mostly because during the week I live in a shitty basement apartment in Brooklyn with rats. I have an uneasy truce with pet rats. But mice, hamsters, chipmunks, squirrels, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc.... I think they're just the cutest.

How does one house hedgehogs?
(wow, say that 5 times fast)

In thick biscuits?   Yum!

I dig hedgehogs. Add hedgehogs to water and it's instant adorable, even if (or likely because)  they're trying to reach the sweet freedom of the counter top.

The big red one is my beloved Mr. Kitty, he was my first cat, a 16th birthday present.  He lived almost 17 years, I still miss him so much.

The little one is my precious Juno, and no, she's not named after the movie, she's named after the queen of the Gods.  Juno is about a year old here, so it gives you some idea how big Mr. Kitty was.

So, like the character in the movie then? ;)

Took the dogs to the open air mall today, Boo almost had a heart attack from joy.

Cat number 2 from the the crazy cat lady

This is Mika, named after the British pop superstar Mika.  I also call him Mini-Magnum, which he also answers to

I got Mika after Mr. Kitty died.  I wanted a black cat, but didn't find one at the shelter I connected with.  Finally found Mika, who was called Socks.  Socks?  Boring!  He was over a year old and there was just something special about him.  He had also been there for months.  He needed a home.

He's spoiled rotten.  Sweet and mean at the same time.  My little buddy.
