This is the movie that the whole "monkey" segment (including the intro) is taken from. Apparently it started out as a student film project for San Fransisco State University. I looked it up because I wanted to know what happened to Susan. She just seems to disappear partway through. Well, turns out in the full version the monkey possesses her and she tries to drown the boy in the bathtub. The father stops her and throws her out the front door, where she hits her head on the concrete. It's not clear whether she dies or is just hospitalized for the rest of the movie.
Needless to say, Merlin does NOT appear to save them at the end.
