MST3K Turkey Day Marathon 2018-Sunday, November 18th @ Noon EST
« on: November 09, 2018, 07:18:19 AM »
Marathon is on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and starts at noon Eastern.

https://www.shoutfactorytvlive.com/

-6 episodes (haven't seen anything regarding how they're being picked this year).
-Intros by Joel and Jonah.
-Some behind the scenes from the new season.

Viewing via above Shout Factory TV website which can also be found on Twitch. Haven't seen anything regarding whether it will also be on Pluto TV again this year.

It you have a Roku and never got the official Twitch channel (which is no longer available), I highly recommend the unofficial Roku Twitch channel- Twitched (there's a free version that plays commercials when you first access it- paid version is commercial free* and costs a dollar).
Free Twitched Roku Channel:
https://channelstore.roku.com/details/223126/twitched-zero
Paid Twitched Channel:
https://channelstore.roku.com/details/206723/twitched
* = Paid version doesn't cut commercials from channels (like the Shout Factory channel) that play their own commercials- just doesn't add commercials when you first start Twitch like the free version does.

Shout Factory TV also running a MST3K marathon all throughout the month of November.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if the marathon is going to be streamed on PlutoTV?

According to Cord Cutters News, the marathon will indeed be on Pluto TV.

And I always forget that the same Shout Factory TV channel that's on Twitch (and at the link at the top
of this thread) is also on Pluto TV channel 512:

Streaming on the MST3K channel of PlutoTV didn't work on my Fire Stick or my Vizio TV, but seems to be working fine on YouTube through my Comcast cable box.

Going through Twitch on my Xbox One, myself. They're showing "We Brought Back MST3K" and some shorts as a warm-up. T-Minus 8 Minutes!

Twitch seemed more stable than Pluto TV last year (the audio was out of sync on Pluto TV at times last year) so watching via the Twitched Roku channel.

Had this running mostly in the background all day- nothing on my list of favorites so far.
1) Moon Zero Two
2) Warrior of the Lost World
3) Bloodlust!
4) Samson and the Vampire Woman

So 2 Joel and then 2 Mike episodes (instead of alternating between the 2 like they've done in recent years).
A finish with 2 Jonah episodes maybe?

I hate to say it, but this year's TD is kinda phoned in. I like the MSTie moments, but they keep repeating the same ones. Joel and Jonah segments are way too short. Episode choices are lackluster (except Moon Zero Two, which I really like). Plus, didn't they do Warrior of the Lost World last year? Still, better than nothing.

So, which two Jonah episodes will we get? I'm guessing Reptilicus for sure. For the second one, I'll go with the last one, At the Earth's Core, because the "theme" is supposedly significant episodes in the MST3K story arc.

Well episode 5 isn't a Jonah episode. And can't we just get beyond Thunderdome.

3 Mikes in a row. Will they keep up the trend and just let Mike take the year, let Joel tie everything, or surprise us with a Jonah?

I'm still guessing Reptilicus for episode 6.

I'd actually planned on smoking a turkey today as a dry run before Thanksgiving, so I've been preparing a turkey all day, which, combined with this marathon gives me the illusion that it's already Thanksgiving.

I'll agree that this has been a lackluster TD...well until Laserblast (my favorite episode).
If not a Jonah, then I'm guessing another Mike since we seem to be going from older to newer.
My money is on Diabolik- last Mike episode (which would kind of stick with us getting the last episode of all the main characters except Joel since we didn't get Mitchell...and Moon Zero Two wasn't J Elvis' last).
(And I'm guessing that Netflix might have exclusive streaming rights to Season 11 still.)

Hey, I was wrong. Probably my favorite Jonah episode.

And the first Jonah episode where we'll get commercials (along with the MSTie Moments that have now become very reptitive).

I'd find the "WATCH NEW EPISODES ON NETFLIX" watermark in the upper left annoying if I weren't just happy for the sake of the show that they got Netflix to allow them to include a Netflix episode.

How was the practice turkey? My experience smoking turkeys has been mixed. When done right, they're great. But great to over-smoked/cooked is a fine line. Was going to smoke one again this year, but found a cheap pre-smoked frozen turkey that I bought instead. Wife has to work overnight on Wednesday and Thursday nights (she works retail). So she'll sleep all day on Thanksgiving while I watch The Gauntlet and then we're planning our Thanksgiving meal for Friday (when she'll still probably sleep most of the day).

And complete list of the Marathon episodes for those of you not watching (or who maybe missed some and want to catch the reruns):
1) Moon Zero Two
2) Warrior of the Lost World
3) Bloodlust!
4) Samson and the Vampire Woman
5) Laserblast
6) Cry Wilderness
