NOW AVAILABLE - ICE CREAM MAN

Is there anything more unsettling than an ice cream truck? Driving around slowly, playing a tinny recording of a song that was popular a century ago, trying to lure children with crude hand-painted knockoffs of cartoon characters on the side of the truck? Yes, it turns out there is something more unsettling, and that’s if the ice cream truck is driven by a serial-killing Clint Howard. Ladies and gentlemen: Ice Cream Man.

The kids in this sleepy little town are concerned their ice cream man might be a murderer who puts human parts in his ice cream, which is a fair concern because he basically tells everyone he meets that he is a murderer who puts human parts in his ice cream. Also a fair concern because, again, he’s Clint Howard. Traumatized by seeing gangsters murder the previous ice cream man when he was a boy (this is his actual origin story, not a joke), Clint grew up to somehow take over the business and add murder to the menu.

From Jan-Michael Vincent as the world’s most bored cop to David Naughton as the world’s horniest rich guy, the movie is packed with bad adults doing bad things. So hey, who are THEY to judge the Ice Cream Man, really? Just kidding, they are right to judge him, he and his ice cream are beyond disgusting.

He’s goofy, he’s gross, but at least he doesn’t charge extra for a waffle cone. He’s the Ice Cream Man, join Mike, Kevin and Bill for three scoops of him today!

I noticed that the ice cream in this movie all looked incredibly sloppy and melted.  They still called it "hard pack".  My guess is that they used real ice cream for those shots, completely failing to consider the amount of time it takes to set up a shot and the multiple takes.  They probably should have used some sort of substitute substance that looks like ice cream but doesn't taste like it.

Multiple takes?

Okay maybe I didn't think my post through all the way.

There's some dairy farm I went to a few times where they sell fresh ice cream made right there.  It's good, but it's pretty runny and melts quickly.  It's the kind you definitely want to get in a bowl and not a cone, because the melting ice cream will run all over your hands.

Just happy to see that only 2 minutes were cut and that there was likely a good reason (a bit of unnecessary gore that had nothing to do with advancing the plot) for it to be cut.

A rare case of this movie being unredeemably bad in a way which made it awful to watch. It was so horribly acted, all over the place, made no sense whatsoever, jumped around with multiple pointless plot points. And I'm still not sure how Clint Howard could overpower anyone. He knocked out two grown men with ice cream scoops.

Okay, maybe Jan Michael Vincent was perfectly fine and didn't feel like moving anymore. It's hard to say.

I found Jack Frosts killer turned into a snowman more believable than an insane asylum that was evidentily run by two people, both of them crazier than the patients.

I mean even A Talking Cat was more on point and linear. But this was possibly the worst 'horror' category film they've done. Fever Lake, Mutant, Nightmare at Noon. All superior films *and* more enjoyable riffs because of it. I know the guys did their best, but the movie was distractingly bad.
