I have faith in Denis Villeneuve, at least in terms of the quality of the film itself.  Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 were both fantastic sci-fi movies.  That said, I imagine it could end up disappointing audiences expecting a regular science fiction adventure romp and it might show in the box office.  But I'm looking forward to it, at least.

Yeah, but they were saying the same thing about the first DUNE, saying it would be the next Star Wars. So take that with a quadrillion grains of sand.

Finally, someone figured out how to make an ornithopter that's true to the book without looking stupid. If they can do that, maybe they can really pull this off. I have hope.

Jodorwsky wanted Pink Floyd to do the soundtrack to his version of Dune. Pretty sure it's an homage to that connection. That was the choice of the trailer creators btw. You won't find any Pink Floyd in the actual movie.
