All 25 of my entries are 8 Crazy Nights.
Please tell me you're joking.

You'll never know! You'll spend the whole list wondering, WILL 8 CRAZY NIGHTS BE NUMBER ONE?!
In that case I abandon all hope for this list.

I've been getting a lot of requests to rescind the requirement that it have been in shown in a theater, and that it be 100% animated.

Would people rather stick to the original rules, or change them to mostly animated, and home video movies are acceptable?

I'd rather change them to animated or mostly animated releases that went straight to VHS/DVD/blu-ray. That's mostly because now that I think about it, there's at least one entry on my list that's about 95% animated and the rest is live action.

I say stay to your rules. Someone's always going to have a complaint about something... you can't make everyone happy, so just stick to your guns.

A google search for Disney, Dreamworks, Ghibli and Pixar will get a person 25 quality, theaterical features alone. Another search for top animation directors and their films would expand that. It's not that hard to follow the rules and come up with a top notch list.

How about making an exception for framing segments. A framing segment would be like The Crypt Keeper on Tales from the Crypt. An example would be the cartoon series Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids. There were live segments with Bill, but he didn't interact with the cartoon. He basically just talked about what was going on in the cartoon. You could edit the parts with Bill out without effecting the plot of the cartoons ( and I am pretty sure they already did that, censor Bill out of his own cartoon series for future broadcast. ) There have been a few feature films with live segments which were basically actors introducing or summarizing the cartoon without interacting with it, and could be edited out without effecting the cartoon.  These are usually tagged on to pad out the running time, or so they can legally credit the actor in the live segment as the film's star.

I already sent you a PM with two films I am thinking of adding to my list that have live segments. It looks like one of them, The Lego Movie, is out due to Will Ferrel and his kid, but the other film I submitted has the "actors" added on for a couple of minutes after the cartoon ends, and could be edited out without effecting the rest of the cartoon. If if framing segments are also a deal breaker then I'll just remove that film from my list as well.

Is it too late to ask for a sub-list for hybrid live action-animation films?

My vote is to keep it to theatrical releases, and allow for live action wrap-arounds or brief gags. (We need to make sure That SpongeBob movie qualifies! Also Fantasia, I suppose.)

Aaaaaaaaa! I completely blocked out that Fantasia has those host segments. That makes three films on my list in jeopardy.

More than that if brief live gags are also forbidden. That could disqualify Team America because of the cat gag. And we just got that film qualified!

God damn it.

Okay, I've gotten enough replies to suggest that movies with limited live action, such as a framing device, should count. And I agree.

If anyone who already submitted a list wants to change theirs, you're welcome to do so. The "have to have been shown in a theater" rule still stands.
