Rifftrax App
« on: August 12, 2017, 10:01:52 AM »
Okay, I just got the Rifftrax App on my Voyager III. Question: does the Just the Jokes Riff you purchased comes with a copy of the film or do you have to get your own DVD, Netflix, etc. copy?

You supply the movie. The app syncs the riff to whatever you are watching (dvd/stream etc).

It does, but if your feed ends up buffering for any reason it can throw things off. You can re-sync, but you might lose a few seconds of riffing while you do.

Has there been any development in allowing other people to make files for the app? So that iRiffers can have their riffs work with it?

Whenever that happens, I just rewind (or what're the digital equivalent of it is nowadays) the movie so that I don't miss any riffs. It's served me well!

Another question: what's the best player to play a DVD on? The DVD player and/or the player on your laptop?

If you have a player on your laptop, use the Riffplayer (as long as it's windows or Mac) here: https://www.rifftrax.com/riffplayer

And if a sync file isn't given with the player, use this handy guide to create one: https://www.rifftrax.com/riffplayer/creating-sync

Then just put the DVD in your DVD player in your home entertainment system, and make sure your phone has the Rifftrax App open, wait for it to synch, and then you can listen to it through any bluetooth speaker or a TRS-connected speaker.
